A blog is pretending to have insight into how Brad Pitt feels when it comes to settling his divorce from Angelina Jolie. The story is made-up. Gossip Cop is told that no one in the actor’s inner circle revealed his thoughts on the matter to the website.

HollywoodLife claims to have “exclusively” learned from a Pitt “source” that the actor is frustrated with his estranged wife for allegedly dragging out their divorce proceedings. The outlet’s supposed insider says the actor believes Jolie is being “difficult and won’t compromise on anything.”

According to the phony tipster, Pitt is “annoyed” because the divorce battle is costing him “time, energy, and lawyer fees,” and he’s becoming increasingly upset by Jolie’s “reluctance to settle.” The blog then proves it knows very little about the legal battle by saying the actress’s lawyer Laura Wasser “is preparing to quit the case.” Actually, Jolie and Wasser split last August. Attorney Samantha Bley Dejean has been the actress’s legal counsel for almost eight months now.

Considering that HollywoodLife isn’t aware Jolie has been using a new lawyer for quite some time, it’s hard to believe the blog knows much about what’s going on behind the scenes of the case. It’s also worth noting, the blog’s so-called “source” alternates between referring to Jolie as both “Angelina” and “Angie.” A real insider would probably know the actress by just one name.

Additionally, Pitt’s own spokesperson has told Gossip Cop on the record several times that no one in his camp is leaking his personal opinions to the blog. We’re once again assured that no one close to the actor is sharing his thoughts about the divorce proceedings with the unreliable website. Although it’s reasonable to believe the process has been frustrating for all those involved, the blog is simply playing a guessing-game and selling it as an “exclusive” scoop.

Unfortunately, this wouldn’t be the first time the outlet has used this tactic to appear knowledgable. Last month, Gossip Cop called out the site for making up a story about Pitt being worried that Jolie was “spoiling” their six kids. Once again, no one in the actor’s trusted circle opens up to the blog about his mindset, and especially not when it comes to matters concerning his children.

In January, the site made up a story saying Pitt loved that his daughter Vivienne looks like Jolie. That bogus report was written after photos emerged of the actress taking the 10-year-old girl to her martial arts class. And shortly before that, the outlet falsely claimed Pitt gets “upset” when Jolie lets bodyguards babysit their kids. That article came in response to pictures of a bodyguard accompanying two of the exes’ kids to an art supplies store. These made-up stories have more in common with fan fiction than they do with anything resembling journalism.
