One of this week’s tabloids claims Brad Pitt is upset about Angelina Jolie supposedly dating Colin Farrell. There’s no truth to the story. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
Earlier this week, Gossip Cop busted OK! for falsely claiming Jolie and Farrell have been in a secret romance for two months. The story was concocted simply because the actress brought four of her kids to last month’s premiere of Disney’s Dumbo remake, in which the actor stars. A trusted Jolie insider assured us she’s not in a relationship with Farrell. The two stars haven’t been spotted together and there’s absolutely zero evidence to indicate they’re an item.
Unfortunately, the magazine has also made up a story about Pitt’s reaction to his estranged wife’s (nonexistent) new romance. An alleged insider tells the magazine, “Brad remembers all too well what his former pal Colin used to be like — the drug and alcohol abuse.” The supposed source further contends that even though Farrell has cleaned up his act, Pitt “just isn’t sure he wants his six children around any other men right now.”
The seemingly phony tipster adds, “His kids have had a rough time since the divorce, and he thinks they all need some time to heal.” The so-called “source” goes on to say that whenever Pitt tries to bring up the topic to Jolie through their lawyers, “she dodges the question.”
The tabloid’s report is based on a false premise. Jolie and Farrell haven’t been secretly dating for two months, and Pitt isn’t worried about a romance that’s not happening. The tabloids have a habit of taking a fake scenario they created and then writing a follow-up story about how the situation is impacting another star. This latest article involving Pitt is another example of that tactic.
Of course, OK! doesn’t exactly have the best track record when it comes to accurately reporting about the estranged spouses. In February, Gossip Cop busted the magazine for wrongly reporting that Pitt and Jolie were calling off their divorce following a meeting where they discussed custody arrangements. The phony report was published less than two months ago, but now the tabloid maintains that Jolie has been dating Farrell for at least two months. The outlet’s stories aren’t just false, they’re also inconsistent.
Last year, Gossip Cop called out the magazine for writing a ridiculously wrong story about Jolie adopting a baby with her “new husband,” a wealthy British philanthropist who she was said to be dating for more than a year. Suffice to say, the actress never adopted a child with her imaginary British husband. This latest storyline involving Farrell is more fiction.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
