Brad Pitt is not trying to prove in court that Angelina Jolie cheated on him with a teacher during their relationship, despite a ridiculous tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this claim. It's all based on an old and untrue story.
In March, Gossip Cop busted Star for publishing a cover story alleging that Jolie had an affair with her dialect coach while shooting the spy movie Salt in the summer of 2009. The claim came from a woman named Anna Kowalski, who was said to be a housekeeper at New York's Waldorf Astoria, where she supposedly witnessed the actress cheating on Pitt.
The bogus rumor had actually first emerged in 2010, at which time a spokesperson for the Waldorf Astoria told E! News that no one by the name of Anna Kowalski was employed by the hotel. For whatever reason, Star decided to dredge up the old and phony story this past March, and Gossip Cop debunked it once again.
Unfortunately, this false premise is popping up its head again thanks to NW, which now says Pitt plans to file court documents to subpoena Kowalski amid his and Jolie's custody negotiations. A so-called "source" tells the magazine, "Brad couldn't believe it when he heard Anna's claims. You can bet that he's going to have his lawyers use her anyway they can to get him equal custody of his kids."
To reiterate, there is no former Waldorf Astoria housekeeper named Anna Kowalski, so it's going to be difficult for Pitt to subpoena a nonexistent person. Regardless, a source close to the movie star tells Gossip Cop on background that the magazine's report is fabricated. Additionally, The Blast recently reported that Pitt and Jolie's custody talks have been amicable, with both sides "negotiating peacefully."
Meanwhile, adultery doesn't affect the court's decisions regarding custody in California. Of course, this notion doesn't apply to Pitt and Jolie since cheating didn't play a role in their divorce. Still, it's worth noting that even if the outlet's story was remotely true, it's not supported by the law.
Basically, NW dug up an old and false rumor that Gossip Cop already busted, then decided to put a new spin on it. But the untrustworthy tabloid can't even keep its narratives straight. Last month, we called out the publication for falsely claiming that Pitt's "secret lover" was pregnant, and Jolie might use it against him in their custody case. This latest article fails to explain what happened to that storyline, but offers a new one that's equally untrue.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
