A new story claiming Brad Pitt is “upset” when Angelina Jolie lets their bodyguards babysit the kids is completely made-up. Gossip Cop can bust this report that untruthfully alleges Pitt “doesn’t like” how the family’s bodyguard supposedly “influences” the children. The tale comes from a site that routinely manufactures articles that are simply not true.
Not surprisingly, this bogus story comes courtesy of HollywoodLife, a website that’s earned the nickname HollywoodLies because of its penchant for concocting provably false articles. While many respectable outlets don’t publish paparazzi pictures of celebrities’ children, on Monday that blog bought photos of Pitt and Jolie’s daughters Shiloh and Vivienne going on a shopping trip with the family’s bodyguard and driver. From there, the site seemingly made up its premise that Pitt “doesn’t like” when the bodyguard/driver plays “babysitter” to his kids.
The often discredited outlet contends Pitt gets “upset” when Jolie allows “bodyguards or other non-parental strangers to oversee their children” because he feels he should be with his children instead. To add credence to its fabricated narrative, the site maintains it has a “source close” to Pitt who shared only with HollywoodLies (and not more reputable outlets) that the actor “does not like it when the kids spend too much time with bodyguards,” who are allegedly “influencing his kids.” The rest of the article then rehashes the custody battle and temporary agreement that Jolie and Pitt reached last month.
Allow Gossip Cop to explain what’s going on here. Shiloh, who is 12, and Vivienne, who is 10, do not have driver’s licenses. The two youngsters went shopping, so the family’s bodyguard and driver, who has been pictured with them on many occasions, and is most assuredly not a “stranger,” drove the two girls to the market, where they picked up household goods. The driver/bodyguard, who Pitt has known for some time, is not “influencing his kids.” He’s chauffeuring and protecting Pitt’s children. Notably, because the premise is entirely fabricated, HollywoodLies offers no examples whatsoever of how the bodyguard is supposedly “influencing” the children.
Additionally, Pitt and Jolie have six kids, ranging in age from 17 to 10, who have with different interests, hobbies, friends, and schedules. Rarely ever do all six kids go out together at the same time with that bodyguard or driver. In fact, in the 25 pictures that HollywoodLies included in its own article (to garner more page views), there’s not one single image of Jolie or Pitt with all the children at once. Jolie is seen in those invasive paparazzi photos with two or three kids at a time, at most. Arguably, if anything, Pitt is relieved that his minor children are protected and driven around, rather than having the two preteen girls doing errands on their own.
Basically, HollywoodLies crafted a scenario, where none exists. Sadly, that is not a new practice. Gossip Cop has literally corrected more than 100 phony articles manufactured by that website about Pitt and Jolie. Regardless, a Pitt insider tells Gossip Cop the blog was even told it’s claim was “nonsense,” but still ran the story anyway.
While we could list a mind-boggling number of articles that are provably untrue, Gossip Cop will just list a handful of other tales from HollywoodLies that, much like the current report about Pitt being “upset” the bodyguard babysits his kids, are also bogus. In case one forgot, it’s the same blog that falsely spread Pitt was dating Kate Hudson. The website also concocted a wholly fictitious tale that Gossip Cop debunked about how Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were going to make a movie together.
And HollywoodLife produced a slew of fake news stories about Jolie having a secret romance with a “mystery man.” It also churned out a series of made-up articles about how Jolie regret splitting up with Pitt. Of course, not one of those reports, which Gossip Cop busted, were remotely true.
Predictably, Celebrity Insider, a site that rewrites other outlets’ stories without bothering to fact-check, regurgitated HollywoodLies’ latest work of fiction. Its article similarly claimed Pitt is “furious” Jolie allows “strangers” to “influence” their children. But as Gossip Cop has said before, a lie repeated is still a lie.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
