Brad Paisley National Anthem

Brad Paisley sang the national anthem before Game 2 of the 2017 World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros on Wednesday night. Watch the country star’s performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” in the video below!

Paisley took the field at Dodgers Stadium to kick off the second matchup between the competing baseball teams. Gospel Singer Keith Williams Jr. had the honor before Game 1 on Tuesday night, in which the Dodgers defeated the Astros 3-1. Paisley revealed Tuesday on Twitter that he’d be appearing at the second game, announcing to his followers, “Thrilled and honored to sing our National Anthem at game 2 of the #worldseries tomorrow, @Dodgers vs @astros. Plaaaaay Ballllllllll.”

Earlier this week, Paisley released the music video for “Heaven South,” the second single from his eleventh studio album Love and War, which dropped this past April. He recently wrapped his concert tour in support of the album, which was dubbed The Weekend Warrior World Tour. The musician is also gearing up to co-host the 51st annual Country Music Association Awards, which air live on ABC from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on November 8. This marks the 10th straight year that Paisley will share hosting duties with Carrie Underwood. The musician and newcomer Kane Brown are expected to perform “Heaven South” during the ceremony.

Although many NFL players have been taking a knee during “The Star-Spangled Banner” to protest social injustice in America, all the members of both the Dodgers and Astros stood during the anthem on Tuesday night. In fact, not a single MLB player has protested the national anthem other than Oakland Athletics catcher Bruce Maxwell, who took a knee during at the start of a game last month. Additional national anthem performers for upcoming games have yet to be announced. Watch video of Paisley’s performance of the national anthem at Game 2 of the 2017 World Series below!
