Blake Shelton Gwen Stefani Wedding Baby

(National Enquirer)

Are Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani preparing for a wedding and baby? That’s the premise of a cover story of one of this week’s celebrity magazines. Gossip Cop, however, can exclusively debunk this claim.

The latest issue of the National Enquirer asserts Stefani and Shelton, who have been dating since 2015, already got married at a “low key” ceremony at his Oklahoma ranch, and are now working out the details for another wedding to be held in L.A. A so-called source for the supermarket tabloid explains, because most of her friends couldn’t make the trip to Oklahoma, “they’re planning a more traditional ceremony at her Los Angeles home.” According to the magazine, the couple has even met with Stefani’s priest.

“They’re not the type to have a huge, over-the-top celebration,” added the outlet’s alleged insider. “Everybody knows how wild they are about each other and the marriage was just a formality.” Of course, if marriage were “just a formality,” why would they have two ceremonies for it?

After that, the magazine then discusses their baby plans, contending they’ve chosen a “great young lady” to be their surrogate. The decision to go that route, maintains the tabloid’s unnamed tipster, comes after several rounds of IVF supposedly failed. “They are getting the fairy-tale ending they always dreamed of, and Blake finally gets to be a dad.”

While the publication relied on an untraceable and unaccountable “source,” Gossip Cop  touched base with Stefani’s rep, who’s authorized to speak on her behalf, and we’re exclusively told on-the-record that “none of it is true.” Stefani and Shelton are not married. They’re not planning a second ceremony. And they are not expecting a baby via a surrogate.

Curiously, the tabloid switched its narrative around from last month. In February, the very same outlet insisted Stefani and Shelton were planning a backyard wedding in Los Angeles, followed by a larger ceremony in Oklahoma. Her rep also told Gossip Cop that version was untrue.

The Enquirer has a poor track record when it comes to the couple. In February 2018, the outlet untruthfully claimed Stefani had suffered a miscarriage while carrying Shelton’s baby. In October of that same year, the tabloid also wrongly reported Stefani and Shelton had split up after “constant fighting.”

To cover up for that giant error, the magazine came back the following month with an equally fictitious tale about how Shelton and Stefani were having a baby to “save” their romance. After dropping the ball repeatedly about weddings and babies, in January 2019, the publication tried a piece about how Stefani had given Shelton an ultimatum to either get fit or get dumped. But the only ones who should get dumped are the Enquirer’s sources for that couple. Each and every story of theirs has been wrong, while Gossip Cop has been right.
