Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani “don’t care at all” about the phony reports written about them getting married, splitting up, or having a baby, Gossip Cop has exclusively learned. We’re told that at this point they’ve become “immune” to the fabricated stories that are often splashed on the covers of tabloids. An insider says that while Stefani’s team will occasionally debunk a falsehood here and there, Shelton’s camp “just disregards” all the published lies.
Ever since Stefani and Shelton began dating in 2015, the celebrity magazines have been concocting tales about them getting married, having a baby (and sometimes twins), and even breaking up. Not one of those scenarios have been true, despite the absurd number of cover stories devoted to those topics. With the exception of a handful of times, Shelton has mocked these publications, but he generally doesn’t engage with them.
Among those rare instances was when Shelton tweeted in 2016, “Oh haven’t you seen the tabloids? I think I’m already married with twins.” Shelton similarly mocked reports Stefani was pregnant with his twins in 2018. Our insider notes, however, that his longtime girlfriend is “more apt to set the record straight” through her rep. Overall, Gossip Cop is told by a source that they “don’t care at all” anymore about the lies written about them.
To be sure, there have been literally hundreds of inaccurate articles about the couple, many of which Gossip Cop has corrected. While we could easily list one after the other, we’ll just pick a few from just 2019. The year kicked off poorly with an OK! cover that falsely maintained Stefani and Shelton announced they were having a baby girl during a gender reveal party at her Los Angeles home. In addition to no other legitimate outlets reporting that, and the No Doubt singer not appearing even remotely pregnant, her rep assured Gossip Cop on the record the publication’s information was “made up.”
A few weeks later in February, In Touch ran on its front page a report that insisted Stefani gave Shelton an ultimatum to either marry her or she would leave him. That was also clearly a lie, because he hasn’t proposed yet and she hasn’t dumped him. Not only did her spokesperson tell Gossip Cop the story was wrong, but even Stefani herself has publicly said there’s “zero pressure” to get married.
Come March, the National Enquirer announced on its cover that Shelton and Stefani were preparing for a wedding and a baby. In that piece, the magazine swore up and down they already had a “low key” ceremony in Oklahoma and were planning a bigger, second wedding in L.A., as well as hiring a surrogate to carry their baby. But, as Stefani’s rep said on her behalf, “none of it is true.” And three months later, that’s still the case.
Life & Style jumped in in April with an article that alleged Stefani and Shelton had a “secret wedding” at his Oklahoma ranch and announced there she was pregnant. In that manufactured tale, an anonymous source contended, “[Stefani] broke the baby news during her vows and everyone erupted in screams of joy.” Her rep confirmed to Gossip Cop that was also inaccurate.
And in May, Life & Style returned with another front page article that wrongly asserted Shelton dumped Stefani on Mother’s Day. In that work of fiction, an unnamed and untrustworthy “source” said Shelton explained to Stefani how “the pressure to marry her was just too much for him,” though she suspected there was “another woman.” Her rep again shot down the bogus story and, course, the two are still together. Maybe if Stefani and Shelton “don’t care at all” about these made-up tales about them getting married, having a baby, or spitting up, neither should the rest of us.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
