A story claiming Blake Shelton wants Miranda Lambert to “get over their divorce” was made up. Unsurprisingly, the article comes from the fabrication factory known as HollywoodLife.

As Gossip Cop reported, Lambert’s new Billboard interview was released on Thursday. In the cover story, she spoke at length about her career and her most recent album, The Weight Of These Wings. The collection of music was partly inspired by her split from Shelton, and she discussed not wanting to write a “breakup record.” She did not say anything specific about Shelton himself. Rather, Lambert spoke about her own emotional state, and vaguely said, “If you want to hear my side of the story or my opinion of what happened, it’s all on there. There’s no mystery anymore — take from it what you will.”

HollywoodLife took the quotes and split them into two news stories. They were followed a few hours later by a purported “exclusive” featuring supposed insight on “how Blake reacted.” “Blake Shelton Wants Miranda Lambert To Get Over Their Divorce: He’s Focused On Gwen Stefani,” blared the headline of that third article. In the piece, a so-called “source” was quoted as saying, “Blake desperately wants to close the chapter in his life with Miranda and move on fully. The proof was in his 2016 album where everything on the record was his way of releasing his emotions about the divorce.”

Lambert, of course, did the same thing. She used her own album as a way of “releasing emotions about the divorce.” And she’s now discussing that record in an interview, much like he did. But it’s problem that she’s doing it, too, like dozens of country singers before them? That doesn’t make much sense. The next quote doesn’t make much sense, either, in light of the weloid’s headline. The supposed snitch supposedly contended, “As much as he would like her not to talk about the divorce anymore, or at all, he respects that Miranda has to get over it in her way.”

“He doesn’t want to throw any gas on the fire and say what she is doing is bad or upsets him, because that would be unfair,” the site’s alleged tipster went on to claim. “Blake knows that he’ll always be linked to Miranda in some way or another. But, he is now where he wants to be and hopes that she is as well, or at least is getting there.”

To recap: The headline asserts Shelton wants Lambert to “get over their divorce,” but the story says he “respects” that she needs to “get over it in her way.” It’s also said that he doesn’t want to “throw any gas on the fire” by saying her comments are “bad” or “upset” him, but isn’t that exactly what this article does? If Shelton didn’t want to “throw gas on the fire,” he wouldn’t have a “source” close to him giving his reaction to an outlet.

And Gossip Cop is told he didn’t. It’s HollywoodLies throwing gas on the fire, as it always does. In fact, it’s ironic that this piece began with the online publication stating, “It’s been two years since Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert’s divorce. But, here we are still talking about it.” That’s because the webloid itself won’t let the narrative go. Despite 24 months going by since the former couple split, the site is still manufacturing “exclusives” to rile up their respective fan bases.

For instance, last month HollywoodLies made up multiple stories about Lambert and Shelton tied to the CMT Music Awards. And in April, after the ACM Awards, there was an “exclusive” with a headline fairly similar to this latest one: “Gwen Stefani Wants Miranda Lambert To Get Over Blake Shelton Split: ‘It’s Time To Move On.'” The problem then and now is that no one legitimately close to any of these players are talking to this outlet. From everything Gossip Cop is told from our own impeccable contacts, these are not real “sources.” Rather, the bad blog is just taking events, like Lambert’s interview, and pretending to have related scoops, such as Shelton’s reaction. Unfortunately for fans, it’s all made up.
