Blake Shelton is "hoping for a child" in the wake of the news Adam Levine is expecting his second baby, according to a made-up report. A certain webloid has been trying to tie Behati Prinsloo's pregnancy to Shelton's relationship with Gwen Stefani, even though they have nothing to do with each other. Gossip Cop can bust this story and explain.
"Blake Shelton Hoping For A Child With Gwen Stefani After Adam Levine's Baby News," reads the headline of this HollywoodLife concoction. The piece begins, "Now that Adam Levine has a second child on the way, his fellow 'The Voice' judge Blake Shelton is hoping that he's next to become a dad." Why would it take Prinsloo getting pregnant again to make Shelton hope that he himself becomes a father? The premise doesn't make much sense, but the site claims it has "EXCLUSIVE details" on the subject.
A so-called "source" is quoted as saying, "Blake has so much love for Adam, he's thrilled for him and Behati. Blake would never begrudge Adam this, but that doesn't mean there's not a part of him that's envious. Blake wants kids and it hasn't happened for him and Gwen yet. He's wondering when it's going to be his turn." The quote is laughable when you consider that for nearly two years now, HollywoodLies has run multiple stories actually claiming Shelton was going to be a dad. In fact, in July, Gossip Cop called out the blog for flip-flopping after wrongly alleging Stefani was pregnant with twins.
This new story ends with the outlet stupidly asking readers, "Do you think Gwen and Blake will eventually be able to have a child of their own?" Readers, of course, have no idea what's going on with the couple behind closed doors and neither does HollywoodLies. If it actually had real sources close to Stefani and Shelton, it wouldn't have flubbed so many pregnancy stories in the past. But because the online publication is seemingly desperate to capitalize on interest in their relationship, it often stretches the limits of credibility and believability.
Levine and Prinsloo having a second child has no real impact on Shelton and Stefani, yet this is the second time HollywoodLies has tried to connect them. As Gossip Cop previously pointed out, the webloid also made up a story about "The Voice" team supposedly being surprised that Levine is having a baby and not Shelton with Stefani. In actuality, there's nothing surprising about a married couple having their second child, and no one on the show was shocked, contrary to the site's assertions. The outlet is merely writing fan-fiction, not actual news stories.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
