One of this week's tabloids claims Blake Lively is worried that her husband Ryan Reynolds is going to injure himself while filming his new action movie 6 Underground. The story is completely made-up. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
A headline in the latest issue of OK! reads, "Blake To Ryan: Be Careful!" The accompanying article says the actress isn't happy about her husband getting physical on the set of his new Michael Bay-directed action film. "He isn't quite at Tom Cruise level, but the script requires him to do a lot of his own stunts and driving," a supposed source tells the magazine.
The alleged insider goes on to say that Reynolds insists he's in the best shape of his life and can handle the film's dangerous action sequences, but his wife "is still a nervous wreck." The questionable tipster adds, "She thinks he's taking a lot of unnecessary risks, especially since they have their daughters to think about. Try as she might, she can't convince him to stop, so she's just begging him not to do anything stupid."
The magazine's article is simply fabricated. In a 2017 interview with Empire magazine, Reynolds explained that he no longer does his own stunts. "I've had some bad injuries doing stunts," the actor revealed. "I broke a couple of vertebrae in my neck. It was a bad situation... So now I use four different guys that come with me."
While promoting Deadpool 2 earlier this year, Reynolds once again confirmed that he leaves the more risky stunts to the professionals. "I'm 41, so falling on cement isn't hilarious anymore," he said. "So, sometimes I'm just like, 'Nope, you're going to do that. I have two kids to protect at home. I'm going to be walking for them.'"
It's also worth noting, the unreliable tabloid doesn't seem to be aware that 6 Underground wrapped shooting earlier this month. The actor already emerged from the action movie unscathed. In addition to the magazine's story being made-up, it's out of date. Still, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who tells us the outlet's premise is untrue.
Unfortunately, we're not surprised by the tabloid's bogus story. Gossip Cop busted OK! in March for falsely claiming that Reynolds and Lively were living separate lives and headed for a split. The happy spouses are still going strong. In September, the magazine wrongly reported that Reynolds and Lively were expecting twins. This latest story about the couple is more fiction.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
