Bindi Irwin is not calling off her wedding to Chandler Powell, despite an untrue tabloid report. Gossip Cop has looked into the story. We can debunk it.

In a splashy two-page spread, Woman's Day is alleging that Irwin is "cracking" under the stress of family drama and is ready to call off her wedding to Powell. The couple has been together since 2013 and got engaged this past July. As yet, a wedding date has not been officially announced, but the tabloid contends there's major drama within the Irwin family and it could force the conservationist to cancel the whole thing.

The publication quotes a so-called "insider" as saying, "Bindi knows there will always be a bit of drama when it comes to a wedding, but she expected it to be minor arguments over seating plans or flowers, not drawn-out family battles." The story points to a piece in an Australian newspaper that reported Irwin's grandfather, Bob, didn't expect to receive an invitation to the wedding. Bob has been estranged from Bindi and the rest of her family for years, going back to when Bob left the zoo he founded and where her late father, Steve, worked before his death in 2006. That much of the story may be true, but the rest is completely bogus.

The dubious source tells the magazine, "The word is they're having serious doubts about going through with it and are talking about whether to put the whole thing on hold." The biggest problem the tabloid has with its shoddy reporting? Irwin posted a photo of her and Powell on Instagram yesterday, along with the caption, "Hey babe I'm so glad I get to spend forever adventuring through life with you." Powell responded, "Sounds like the perfect life to me." This is clearly not a couple with cold feet. A quick scroll through Irwin's feed and fans will see numerous posts about the wedding, including a cake-tasting photo posted on October 26.

While the outlet should be embarrassed by how wrong it got this story, it's just another example of a tabloid covering a topic it has no clue about. For example, in February, Gossip Cop busted the Globe for phony article about Irwin's mother, Terri, marrying Russell Crowe in a double wedding with her daughter and Powell. The paper quoted supposed "tipster" as saying, "They're planning a safari-themed ceremony in late February at the zoo." Checking out the calendar, we can safely report this absurd wedding idea never came true.
