Billy Bush issued an apology on Friday after video leaked of a lewd conversation he had with presidential candidate Donald Trump back in 2005. See statement below.

As Gossip Cop reported, the video shows Trump graphically discussing with Bush how he wanted to “f*ck” an unnamed married woman, now said to be Nancy O’Dell. At the time, the two were wired up for an “Access Hollywood” interview, and apparently unaware their mics were turned on. The old tape, which also included Trump talking about forcibly groping women, was obtained by The Washington Post and published on Friday afternoon.

Now on Friday night, Bush released a statement saying, “Obviously I’m embarrassed and ashamed. It’s no excuse, but this happened eleven years ago — I was younger, less mature, and acted foolishly in playing along. I’m very sorry.”

Trump also released his own statement earlier, in which he said, “This was locker room banter, a private conversation that took place many years ago. Bill Clinton has said far worse to me on the golf course — not even close. I apologize if anyone was offended.”

Bush no longer works at “Access Hollywood,” as he joined NBC’s “Today” show to co-anchor the 9 a.m. hour. The network has not commented on the new controversy. But many celebrities are reacting to Bush and Trump’s vulgar conversation on Twitter. Not surprisingly, most are expressing outrage, particularly because the Republican nominee has said a number of inappropriate remarks about women before and during his campaign for president.
