Beyonce was the subject of a number of untrue rumors in 2018, but the top one was that she was pregnant again with twins. At the time the false report was published in August by one of the tabloids, it was alleged Beyonce was about six months along with her and Jay-Z's two new babies. Gossip Cop debunked the claim back then, and it's clear the singer didn't give birth to another set of twins which, by the magazine's calculations, would've been born a month ago.
The outlet behind the bogus premise was the National Enquirer, which also produced 2017's top Beyonce and Jay-Z rumor. This year the publication maintained, in an effort to "save their troubled marriage," Jay-Z and Beyonce were "expecting again — and it's twins... again!" As widely reported, Jay-Z and Beyonce welcomed twins, Rumi and Sir Carter, 14 months earlier in June 2017.
To lend credence to its fictitious tale about Beyonce being pregnant with two more babies, the often disproven supermarket tabloid alleged it had an "insider," who supposedly shared the couple was "thrilled they're expecting and happier still that it's twins." The magazine's purported "source" further asserted Beyonce underwent IVF treatments before adding (in unnaturally expository language), "Bey's 36 and she doesn't want to put her body through more pregnancies if she doesn't have to. She likes this two-for-one deal."
Of course, as Gossip Cop rightly reported, Beyonce wasn't even pregnant with one baby, let alone another set of twins while they were still in the midst of their On the Run II Tour in August. Curiously, when the publication made its claim, the superstar singer didn't have an ounce of extra body weight that could have even been misconstrued as a baby bump. She also seemed to have drank half a bottle of beer a month before the tabloid's supposed "baby news," as evidenced by a video Beyonce posted on Instagram.
In the intervening months since that report, Beyonce has posted several photos on social media of herself with a slim midsection that clearly disprove she was pregnant. On November 6, for example, Beyonce uploaded to Instagram a picture featuring her flat tummy, while wearing a "Beto [O'Rourke] for Senate" baseball cap. By the outlet's reckoning, the singer would've have been in labor about then.
Because it was so off and verifiably so, the claim Beyonce and Jay-Z were pregnant again with twins has earned the Enquirer the distinction of top rumor for the second year in a row. Last year, the tabloid was responsible for the top Beyonce and Jay-Z rumor about them getting a $1 billion divorce. Gossip Cop hopes the magazine resolves to do better in 2019.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
