Is Beyonce sharing post-pregnancy photos on social media for the sole purpose of getting compliments about her post-baby body? That's the absurd claim in one of this week's new tabloids, but Gossip Cop can set the record straight.
An article in the latest issue of OK! claims the singer has been experiencing postpartum depression since giving birth to twins in June, and much of her supposed sadness stems from gaining weight while pregnant. A supposed "source" tells the magazine that in the weeks since Beyonce started getting in shape again, "she's trying to cheer herself up by going out and flaunting her figure online."
The outlet's dubious insider adds, "She doesn't want to lose contact with her fans, who she knows fawn over her every move." The seemingly phony source goes on to say Jay-Z had given her the post-pregnancy attention she needed back when their oldest daughter Blue Ivy was born, but now he's "completely overwhelmed" with the twins, so she "needs to boost her ego" through social media praise instead.
Of course, the singer has always been quite active on social media, both before her pregnancy and throughout it. Beyonce's Instagram presence hasn't increased in the time since she gave birth, so the outlet's story makes little sense. Regardless, Gossip Cop still checked in with a source close to the singer, who exclusively assures us she hasn't been feeling down, nor is she posting photos to receive adulation from her fans. The insider tells us Beyonce is simply sharing pictures as she always has.
Unfortunately, this isn't the first time we've had to debunk a bogus report surrounding the singer following the birth of her twins. Gossip Cop recently busted OK!'s sister publication, the National Enquirer, for falsely claiming Beyonce got a post-pregnancy butt lift at the request of her husband. Shortly before that nonsense, we corrected OK!'s other sister outlet, Star, after it made up a story about Blue Ivy being jealous of her newborn brother and sister. This latest article is simply more fiction.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
