Beyonce and Jay Z celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary on Monday, despite years of false divorce rumors. To mark their near decade together, Beyonce shared a new music video for her 2015 song “Die With You,” filled with private photos and footage of the couple and their daughter Blue Ivy. Interestingly, the same untrustworthy websites and magazines that are now gushing over the sweet video are the ones Gossip Cop has busted for their fake split stories.
Just a couple of months ago, Gossip Cop shot down a National Enquirer story that wrongly alleged Beyonce and Jay Z were in a “$1 billion divorce.” The tabloid maintained that while they temporarily broke up in the past, now a full “split appears even more likely.” Of course, as we noted, the claim was untrue.
One year ago, RadarOnline made a big deal about Beyonce “not wearing her wedding ring” in a photo while she rehearsed for her “Formation World Tour.” The site also blew smoke about Jay Z attending one of her concerts and being “noticeably ring-less as well.” But, as Gossip Cop reported, the webloid’s assertions about them splitting up had no ring of truth.
A little more than a year ago, Life & Style ran a wholly fabricated article that alleged Beyonce announced at a birthday party for Kelly Rowland that “she was ending her marriage to Jay Z.” One of the magazine’s unreliable sources was quoted as saying, “She took off her wedding ring and… told people that it was one of the last times they’d see it.” The publication even contended Beyonce was “house-hunting for her own place.” Once again, Gossip Cop was quick to bust that made-up report.
In 2015, Life & Style‘s sister publication, In Touch, published a cover story that blared Beyonce was making a “divorce announcement,” and that her “marriage is over.” The tabloid promised details of her and Jay Z’s “final fight” and “battle” over Blue Ivy, in addition to having one of its highly suspect Beyonce sources declare, “She’s done.” Two years later, the claim is still 100 percent wrong.
Sadly, this phony narrative has been around for years. Back in 2011, Gossip Cop blasted a fake news story from MediaTakeOut that inaccurately contended Jay Z and Beyonce had separated. The often discredited outlet claimed the couple “has been at odds for the last year.” It was untrue back then, and it’s still not true today. Instead, Gossip Cop wishes Beyonce and Jay Z a belated and rumor-free ninth anniversary.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is accurate to the best of our ability.
