Beyonce was neither excited nor "curious" about Taylor Swift dissing Kim Kardashian in her new song, "Look What You Made Me Do," despite a wholly made-up story from a site that seemingly spends far more time concocting claims than fact-checking. Gossip Cop can correct this fabricated tale. We're told Beyonce has no vested interest one way or the other.
In a newly manufactured article, HollywoodLife maintains that Beyonce was interested in seeing what happened after Swift released "Look What You Made Me Do" on Thursday. A so-called "source close to Beyonce" is quoted as saying the singer was "curious to see what Taylor [Swift] may have in store for Kim Kardashian." Written before the song dropped, the supposed "source" alleged, "Beyonce has always been a fan of Taylor's music and will be grabbing some popcorn... to watch the eruption of diss track drama, which may ensue online with Taylor's new song." The unreliable HollywoodLies, as its known, reported that the song may be called "Timeless."
Actually, it's called "Look What You Made Me Do." And while there are certainly allusions in the single and its lyric video to Kardashian and Kanye West, who broadcast a secretly recorded private conversation with Swift about his song "Famous," Gossip Cop is told Beyonce has taken no particular interest or side in this. The truth is, Beyonce's main connection to Swift is that she was part of that mortifying moment eight years ago when West highjacked Swift's acceptance at the MTV VMAs and expressed that Beyonce should have win the award for Best Female Video instead. Plus, the gossip media loves pitting Beyonce against Kardashian whenever possible.
To say the website has published a few untrue stories about Beyonce would be an understatement. In early 2016, for example, Gossip Cop busted HollywoodLife's story titled, "Beyonce & Jay Z Divorce Shocker: She Announces Marriage Is Over At Kelly Rowland's Birthday." Of course, as we noted back then and as time has proven, it wasn't true. Nor was there any truth to the report HollywoodLies manufactured about Beyonce "begging" Kardashian for advice on getting pregnant.
Once again, the outlet has simply taken the newsworthy event of Swift releasing a new single and added the fictitious layer of Beyonce being "curious" about how she was going to address Kardashian in her new song. We're assured no one from Beyonce's camp told HollywoodLies anything like that. It's just made-up.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
