One of the tabloids claims the only Christmas gifts that Bethenny Frankel gives are products from her Skinnygirl lifestyle brand. The story is completely made-up. Gossip Cop can debunk it.

An article in the latest issue of the National Enquirer, which refers to the “Real Housewives” star as a “cheapskate,” claims she skimps on holiday presents for her friends and family each year. An alleged insider tells the magazine, “It’s a joke each year guessing what her gift will be – it’s always the Skinnygirl product she’s pushing at the moment. This year, it’s Skinnygirl sparkle candles.”

The outlet’s supposed source adds, “And don’t bother with a thank you note. What Bethenny really wants is a ‘Cheers!’ on social media so the whole world can celebrate her brand.” The magazine’s premise simply isn’t accurate.

Last month, Frankel told the New York Post that there are 100 people on her Christmas list, and she’s going on a shopping spree at Saks Fifth Avenue to get them all presents. Among the items she plans to buy from the department store include makeup kits, keychains and wallets. The reality star further noted that she’s stocking up on designer bags from Barneys and De-Vesi, in addition to Starbucks gift cards.

Frankel did in fact admit that all of the people on her gift list will be getting Skinnygirl sparkle candles, but only as an addition to whatever other presents she gets them. The reality star gives out her own products as a bonus, not as her primary Christmas gift. A mutual pal of ours and Frankel put the situation into more context, telling Gossip Cop, “Bethenny personalizes dozens of gifts for friends and colleagues. Each year, Skinnygirl as a brand does have a ‘holiday gift’ which they get an allocation of for Bethenny to share with friends and family. This year we have candles, one year it was a cheese board and wine, the other was sparkling wine with glasses, etc.”

The Enquirer doesn’t exactly have a stellar record when it comes to reporting about the “Real Housewives” star. Just a couple of weeks ago, Gossip Cop busted the magazine for falsely claiming that Frankel was blocking Jill Zarin’s return to the “Real Housewives of New York.” In that article, it was alleged Frankel didn’t want her former nemesis coming back as a full-time cast member, but the reality is that Zarin only expressed a desire to return as an occasional guest. More importantly, both women are on friendly terms again.

And just two months before that, Gossip Cop shot down the same unreliable tabloid when it falsely claimed that Frankel and Ellen DeGeneres were no longer friends. The magazine alleged that following the 2014 cancellation of the reality star’s talk show “Bethenny,” which DeGeneres produced, the two went their separate ways and have had “almost zero contact.” Only, the cocktail mogul has been a guest on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” a couple of times since “Bethenny” went off the air, and DeGeneres has repeatedly promoted Frankel’s humanitarian efforts over the past few years. The tabloid’s Christmas-themed story about Frankel is more nonsense.
