Is Ben Affleck using wrinkle fillers to look younger? That’s the silly claim coming from one of the tabloids. Gossip Cop can bust the story.

The article in question can be found in the current edition of OK!, under the headline, “Ben’s Fuller Face.” According to the gossip magazine, the actor has “embarked on his midlife bachelor phase” in the wake of he and Jennifer Garner filing for divorce, but he’s “off to a rocky start.” The tabloid describes Affleck as looking “noticeably puffier” in the face as the result of allegedly “going overboard on wrinkle fillers.”

He “overdid it on the fillers,” a so-called source contends to the outlet, claiming, “He’s desperately trying to recapture his youth, but it’s not working.” Though the publication’s supposed snitch asserts Affleck just wants to “feel better about himself,” this same purported tipster goes on to bad-mouth his appearance. “This is not a good look,” the tabloid’s “source” declares.

But who is OK! to pass judgment? Less than two months ago, Gossip Cop called the magazine out for a cover story falsely claiming Affleck and Garner were expecting twins. It was also over a year ago that the tabloid ran a fabricated cover story about Affleck being in a “shocking romance” with Charlize Theron. If the outlet can’t be trusted to get the big things right, why it should it be trusted on the small things?

It shouldn’t. A story about Affleck’s looks may seem harmless, aside from its mean-spirited tone, but readers expect the publication to be accurate on all topics. And after repeatedly publishing lies about the movie star’s personal life, it’s quite obvious OK! doesn’t have real, reliable Affleck sources. In this case, it seems the magazine merely saw paparazzi photos and made up a wrinkle filler article to go with it.

The much more obvious and likely reason for Affleck’s fuller appearance is a fluctuation with weight, which he’s been known to have over the years. Of course, that rational explanation isn’t mentioned anywhere in this piece, as the tabloid opted to be cruel and sensational instead of realistic. A contact further confirms to Gossip Cop that the story is nothing but “pure stupidity.”
