Ben Affleck does not have a “death wish,” despite a baseless report that was written simply because the actor recently got into a motorcycle accident. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this completely speculative article. We’re told it’s ridiculous.

Last month, Gossip Cop called out RadarOnline for wrongly reporting that Affleck was facing “brain damage” after falling off his bike and tumbling onto a sidewalk while riding around Los Angeles. The actor, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the minor accident, didn’t sustain any injuries. We were also told by a source close to the situation that another vehicle was at fault for the crash.

But the website’s sister publication, the National Enquirer, is now sensationalizing the situation as well. The unreliable magazine quotes a “mental health expert,” who’s never treated Affleck, as theorizing that he’s a “self-destructive adrenaline junkie.” The site’s source further speculates that the actor will “burn out or kill himself” if he doesn’t stop “riding a motorcycle and putting himself at risk.”

The outlet then dramatically insists that Affleck needs to slow down “if he wants to see his three young children grow up.” However, this is all being blown out of proportion to the point of absurdity. The actor simply got into a small fender bender last month, and owning a motorcycle isn’t a sign that one has a “death wish.” In fact, Affleck always wears a helmet while riding his bike, which helped protect him from getting injured during last month’s spill.

Regardless of the blog’s article being completely ridiculous and unfounded, Gossip Cop still checked in with a mutual pal of ours and Affleck, who dismissed the false notion that the actor isn’t concerned about his safety. There’s no one in Affleck’s inner circle who fears he’s out to hurt himself, despite the opinion of a “mental health expert” who’s never met him. It’s generally not advisable for one to diagnose a person who one isn’t treating.

Also, the Enquirer often makes up stories surrounding Affleck’s relationships with estranged wife Jennifer Garner and girlfriend Lindsay Shookus, so it’s not too surprising that the tabloid would publish another false narrative about him. Accidents happen, and that’s all there is to it.
