Has Ben Affleck given Jon Hamm his blessing to date his ex-girlfriend Lindsay Shookus, as an outlet is claiming? The short answer is no, but that's because Hamm and Shookus aren't a couple at all. Gossip Cop can set the record straight.
Last month, Gossip Cop debunked a RadarOnline article claiming Hamm and Shookus were dating after the two were spotted sitting together at the opening of Broadway show. The actor's spokesperson, however, told us on the record that he's not in a romance with the Saturday Night Live producer. The two are simply longtime friends who've hung out together many times in the past. It's also worth noting, Hamm and Shookus haven't been spotted together since attending the Broadway show several weeks ago.
Unfortunately, the blog Naughty Gossip is still pushing this false premise about the Mad Men star and SNL producer being romantically involved. The outlet is doing so by pretending to know Affleck's feelings on the (nonexistent) coupling. "Ben has mixed feeling about Lindsay seeing Jon," an alleged source tells the website. "Yes, he is hurt but at the same time he is happy she has found a good man and gives them both his blessings."
In reality, Affleck hasn't approved of an imaginary romance between Hamm and Shookus. Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the actor, who laughed off the report. The entire scenario is based on a bogus rumor that we already corrected.
This wouldn't even be the first time an outlet has tried to capitalize on the false dating rumors surrounding Hamm and Shookus. Shortly after they emerged, Gossip Cop busted Life & Style for claiming Shookus was only dating Hamm to make Affleck jealous. That version of events attempted to create friction between Affleck and Shookus, while this latest one goes with a tamer angle involving "blessings." Regardless of this latest storyline being less hostile, it's no more accurate.
Meanwhile, Naughty Gossip has been known in the past to make up nonsense about Affleck. Last year, Gossip Cop called out the website for wrongly reporting Affleck was "too big" to fit into his Batman suit, and would need to lose weight if he wanted to keep the role. Although the actor will no longer be portraying the Dark Knight, it has absolutely nothing to do with his physique. Warner Bros. simply decided to take the franchise in a new direction by casting Robert Pattinson in a reboot. The blog has little insight into either the movie star's career or his personal relationships.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
