Ben Affleck is constantly trying to win back Jennifer Garner in the fantasy world created by the tabloids. In reality, the ex-spouses are on good terms but neither has any intention of getting back together. Here are five wrong rumors on the subject that Gossip Cop has debunked.

In May, Gossip Cop called out Woman's Day for falsely claiming Affleck asked Garner to marry him again after growing closer while co-parenting their three kids. A supposed source was quoted as saying, "He told Jen in no uncertain terms he wants them to be a family again and he'd walk down the aisle in a heartbeat if she'd have him." The outlet didn't bother to mention that Garner has been dating Cali Group CEO John Miller since last year. The actress and her boyfriend were spotted on a breakfast date in Los Angeles just days before the article was published. No proposal took place.

Earlier that month, the National Enquirer wrongly reported that Affleck was undergoing a $200,000 makeover in order to win back his ex-wife, spending the money on a "new wardrobe, skin treatments and a team of image consultants." Affleck's own rep told Gossip Cop on the record that the story was nonsense. Although the actor has remained on good terms with Garner, he hasn't attempted to rekindle their romance and never got a makeover to do so.

Gossip Cop busted Star in March for making up a story about Affleck asking Garner to marry him again after "sparks flew" between them when they reunited to attend a friend's wedding in Los Angeles. The outlet maintained that the actor "popped the question" to his ex-wife in the middle of the ceremony. Just days before the phony article was published, the news emerged that Affleck was back together with ex-girlfriend Lindsay Shookus. Although the actor and the "Saturday Night Live" producer have since split again, he clearly didn't propose to Garner in March, at which time he was in a relationship.

In August 2018, Gossip Cop debunked an NW report about Garner agreeing to take back Affleck for the sake of their kids. The magazine said the reason the two had yet to sign their divorce papers was because Affleck said he was "willing and able to change" and admitted "he still has strong feelings for Jennifer." Less than two months after we corrected the bogus report, the ex-spouses finalized their divorce.

And finally, Gossip Cop busted Life & Style way back in 2017 for kicking off this false narrative about Affleck asking Garner to get back together. The tabloid claimed the actor made the request following a trip they took to the Bahamas with their three children. The actor had been dating Shookus for a few months at the time the phony report emerged. The only true aspect of the magazine's article was that Affleck and Garner took a family vacation together. The actor never tried to win back his ex-wife and hasn't to do so in the time since.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
