One of this week's tabloids claims Jennifer Garner is pregnant with her new boyfriend's baby, and Ben Affleck congratulated her on the supposed news. The entire premise is fabricated. Gossip Cop can correct it.
According to OK!, the actress unexpectedly conceived a child with Cali Group CEO John Miller, who she's only been dating for a few months, but she's thrilled about it. An alleged insider tells the magazine, "This is the perfect way for Jen and John to start their new life together. Jen thinks it's a sign — and a miracle."
The outlet's supposed source continues, "They weren't even trying to get pregnant, and Jen thought she was too old to conceive naturally. But she suspected something was going on because she was gaining weight and couldn't explain why." The questionable tipster adds, "She took a test, and boom! She was so happy, almost dancing on air."
The suspicious insider further contends that Garner broke the news to Affleck over Thanksgiving, "and he took it surprisingly well," adding, "Ben congratulated her; he wanted to show his support, especially after the way she stepped in to help during his last fall from grace." The seemingly phony source adds, "Jen's relieved; she feels it's better to have Ben on her side in this. And now she can move forward and feel truly excited about the future."
The tabloid's article is a work of pure fiction. Despite what the publication's anonymous "source" claims, a rep qualified to speak on Garner's behalf confirms she's not pregnant. Several reputable celebrity news outlets, such as E! News, have reported that Garner and Miller's relationship is "not serious" yet. Just a couple of weeks ago, People magazine reported that Garner doesn't even refer to Miller as "her boyfriend." The actress and businessman have a casual romance, but she's certainly not expecting his child.
It's worth noting, Gossip Cop already busted OK!'s sister publication, the National Enquirer, when it falsely claimed last month that the real reason Garner finalized her divorce from Affleck is because she was expecting. Shortly before that, the magazine's other sister outlet, the Globe, also wrongly reported that Garner was pregnant with Miller's baby. The premise wasn't true then and it's no more accurate now.
It's clear the tabloids have no insight into Garner's new romance, so they choose to concoct ridiculous stories instead. This latest one involving Affleck's reaction to her so-called "pregnancy" is more nonsense.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
