Ben Affleck is not ditching Jennifer Garner and their three kids on Thanksgiving, despite a false tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the phony story. It's completely fabricated.
The National Enquirer and its sister outlet RadarOnline both published articles about Affleck escaping to the Bahamas on Thanksgiving instead of celebrating the holiday with his ex-wife and their kids, as he's done every year since their 2015 split. According to the magazine, however, Garner is taking the kids to Boston to visit her sister this year, while Affleck is "bolting to the Caribbean" because he feels he deserves a break after working so much.
An anonymous source says Garner is worried about Affleck staying sober in the Bahamas following his slip last month, but she's done keeping an eye on him and isn't trying to intervene. "She doesn't expect anything from him anymore," adds the unknown tipster. "She just wants her children to grow up happy and as normally as possible."
The tabloid's article, which is based on the word of an unidentified insider, is total fiction. Gossip Cop checked in with Affleck's spokesperson, who tells us on the record that it's nonsense. The actor simply isn't ditching his ex-wife or their kids on Thanksgiving.
It should be noted, Affleck and Garner have celebrated nearly every big holiday together since their breakup more than four years ago. Last year, the exes took their kids to Montana for Thanksgiving. The year before that, the family celebrated in Los Angeles, where they were joined by Affleck's mom. Affleck and Garner got together with their kids the two years prior as well, and there's no reason to believe this year will be any different.
Here's an example of a tabloid article that will be officially disproven within days. It's unclear where Affleck and Garner will be celebrating Thanksgiving this year, but Gossip Cop will update following the festivities. One thing is for certain: the actor won't be snubbing his family in favor of vacationing in the Bahamas by himself.
The Enquirer has proven countless times that it has no insight into the relationship between the exes. In September, Gossip Cop busted the magazine for falsely claiming Garner was pregnant and the baby might belong to Affleck. The actress isn't expecting a child, let alone one that belongs to her ex-husband.
In May, Gossip Cop called out the magazine for making up a story about Affleck getting a $200,000 makeover to win Garner back. Are we to believe he spent a fortune to win back his ex-wife only to ditch her on Thanksgiving several months later? The tabloid constantly prints fiction about the exes, and most of the time, these bogus narratives don't align with each other. The Enquirer's reporting isn't something to be grateful for this Thanksgiving.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
