In the fantasy world created by the tabloids, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are constantly getting back together. That's simply not the case. Here are five wrong rumors about the ex-spouses reuniting.
Last August, Gossip Cop called out OK! for falsely claiming the exes were getting back together after the actor agreed to a so-called "marriage and rehab ultimatum." The magazine said Affleck checked into a treatment facility with the promise that Garner would call off their divorce if he was willing to seek help. Although it's true the movie star went to rehab for alcohol addiction last year, he didn't get sober to save his marriage. In fact, Affleck and Garner finalized their divorce just days after checked out of the facility last October.
Gossip Cop also busted NW in August for wrongly reporting that Garner was taking back Affleck for the sake of their three kids. According to the tabloid, the actress believed their children should have two parents living in the same household, so she was willing to put aside their differences and stay married. As noted above, the ex-spouses finalized their divorce just a few months after this phony story was published. Meanwhile, Garner has been dating CaliGroup CEO John Miller for the past several months. Just last month, "Entertainment Tonight" reported that the actress has been seeing Affleck "less frequently" as her romance with Miller continues to get more serious.
Last July, OK! Australia made up a story claiming Garner said in an interview she's "not ready to divorce" Affleck. The actress never made such a statement. The outlet was referring to the actress's profiled on CBS' "Sunday Morning," during which she opened up about her split. The unreliable magazine included some of the real comments Garner made during the interview, but also included the fake line, "I'm not ready to divorce Ben." Those words never came out of the actress's mouth. The magazine attributed a bogus quote to Garner to make it seems as if she and Affleck were reconciling.
Gossip Cop busted Star last July for falsely claiming Garner was pregnant with Affleck's baby after the two spent a night together at her home. The actor was dating "Saturday Night Live" producer Lindsay Shookus during this time, but the outlet insisted he had secretly hooked up with his ex-wife during a "sleepover," resulting in the two expecting another child together. A rep for the actor went on the record to call the report flat-out "crazy." As time has proven, the ex-spouses never welcomed a fourth child.
And last April, Gossip Cop debunked an NW story about Affleck and Garner giving their marriage a "second shot." The tabloid said the exes had been rekindling a romance while spending time together with their three children. Although the actor and the actress have in fact stayed on good terms and successfully co-parent their kids, they never reunited as a couple. Around the same time the story emerged, People magazine noted that Affleck and Garner were moving on with their lives, but remained committed to raising their children together. As of February 2019, the exes are officially divorced and Garner has a new boyfriend.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
