Bachelor Recap January 15 2018

On Monday’s “The Bachelor,” Arie Luyendyk made some surprising eliminations during his dates, the cocktail party and the rose ceremony. Get the full recap below!

As Gossip Cop reported, on last week’s “The Bachelor,” Becca scored the first one-on-one date of the season. The second solo date went to Krystal, who later clashed with Bibiana for monopolizing Arie’s time, even though she already had a rose from their date. That set the stage for tonight’s episode, during which Bibiana again struggled to spend time with the man they all desired.

The new installment began with a group date inspired by GLOW, the Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling, who are the basis of the TV show of the same name starring Allison Brie. In this case, the name was altered to GLOB, as in the Gorgeous Ladies Of “The Bachelor.” The women were tasked with nailing certain moves and embracing over-the-top personas. Tia and Bibiana were both turned off by the aggressiveness of the GLOW instructors, who left them in tears with their trash-talking.

After some consoling and encouragement from Arie, they had to face off in groups of two, with Krystal against Jacqueline, Bekah taking on Maquel, Bibiana battling Tia and Lauren B. challenging Marikh. Arie even had to get in the ring with former “Bachelorette” contestant Kenny. At the after-party, a determined Bibiana said in a confessional, “Arie’s mine.” But Krystal was the first to steal him away, leading Bibiana to declare, “I can’t believe this bitch is pulling [expletive] again.” Krystal felt she had Arie’s blessing to act as she deemed fit, but Bibiana brought up her concerns to the reality star himself.

“With Krystal, I just don’t think it’s cool,” she told Arie, highlighting the “tension.” He told the camera that she should “concentrate on us” and “not get caught up on the drama in the house.” Still, Krystal kept rubbing the women the wrong way. Arie also spent alone time with Tia, Bekah and others, and it was Bekah who received the group date rose, much to Krystal’s chagrin. “I’m really gonna have to step up my gave and be more aggressive,” she decided.

The next outing was Arie’s one-on-one date with Lauren S. They took a private jet to a Napa Valley winery and initially seemed to be bonding through casual chit-chat. But at dinner, a nervous Lauren kind of rambled and Arie seemed less than interested. She admitted she was struggling to come across well and he dropped the hammer. “I really, really wanted this for us, but I’m sorry, I can’t give you this,” he said, referring to the date rose.

Unsurprisingly, the women were stunned when Lauren S. didn’t come back from the date. Krystal used that to preach to everyone about making the “most” of time with Arie, angering Caroline, who was upset over the elimination. Another group date followed, this one involving Ashley, Becca, Brittany, Jenna, Caroline, Chelsea and Annaliese. The theme changed from wrestling to dogs, and when Annalise learned canines would be involved, she started to panic, much like she did at the demolition derby.

The contestants had to partake in a dog show called “Arie’s Amazing Acrodogs.” It was fairly awkward, with Annaliese taking the job of scooping poop. Interestingly, the kiss between Arie and Caroline seen in the photo above wasn’t actually shown during the broadcast. At the after-party, Arie asked Chelsea to have private time with him first, boosting her confidence. Here, Caroline’s make-out session was featured, as was Annaliese feeling increasingly insecure about forging a meaningful connection.

When they did get time alone, her nerves were obvious and the exchange was awkward with Chelsea interrupting before Annaliese got her hoped-for kiss. She even predicted she’d be going home, but vowed to “think positively.” Becca’s resolve was also shaken when the group date rose went to Chelsea and not her. Then, with the week’s dates completed, all that remained was the cocktail party and rose ceremony. And there it wasn’t just Annaliese who was on edge and determined to make an impact.

Bibiana set up a romantic place for her to sit with Arie outside, but before she could bring him out, he and Lauren B. stumbled upon the spot and chose to make-out there. When Bibiana approached, Arie actually turned her away and then brought Chelsea and Bekah, both of whom had roses already, out there. Perhaps needless to say, but Bibiana was hurt and angered.

Meanwhile, Annaliese was set on finally having her first kiss with Arie. He actually said he could tell she was “stressed out,” and she admitted wanting a kiss. “I just don’t think we’re there yet,” he told her. Annaliese felt publicly rejected and cried to the other women, who encouraged her to make another effort. And so she approached Arie again, “putting him on the spot” about whether there’s “potential at all.”

He confessed he “hadn’t put much thought into it,” but now that she was asking “directly,” he didn’t “feel like there could be a future for us.” With that, Arie walked her out, which made Bibiana worry she might be the next to exit. And she was. When he didn’t call her name for a rose, that sealed her fate. With that, 15 women will get to continue on their journey for love. Next week, the competition moves to Lake Tahoe.
