Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross did not have a “huge fight” before the 2017 American Music Awards, despite a fabricated report. Gossip Cop can correct this claim. We’re told it’s “not true.”

According to Star, Simpson gave her husband Ross the “cold shoulder” on the red carpet at this year’s AMAs, where his mom, the legendary Diana Ross, received the Lifetime Achievement Award. A so-called “spy” tells the tabloid, “Something just felt a little off. There was no holding hands, no hugs, no interaction between them at all.” The magazine’s supposed “insider” goes on to express, “It seemed like they’d had a huge fight before they walked the red carpet. Ashlee looked like she couldn’t wait to get home.”

Gossip Cop suspects the tabloid doesn’t know the difference between the words “insider” and “onlooker.” An “insider” would definitively know whether they had a “fight” or not. What the magazine has is an “onlooker,” who noticed there was “no holding hands, no hugs” and felt, “It seemed like they’d had a huge fight.” Either way, the tabloid is wrong.

Simpson rep tells Gossip Cop on the record that the claim is 100 percent “not true,” as the couple did not have a “huge fight” before walking the red carpet at this year’s American Music Awards. Actually, one day after the AMAs, Ross posted a photo on Instagram of his family looking particularly cheerful at the music event. He captioned the post, “LOVE MY BEAUTIFUL FAMILY. We had the best night celebrating MY MOM @dianaross. The best of all time!!!!”

Star doesn’t have the best record when it comes to reporting on Simpson and her family. Gossip Cop recently corrected the publication when it falsely claimed Simpson was “dreading” Thanksgiving with her family. At the time, the Simpson sisters’ rep told us the tabloid’s article was “not true.” Much like that inaccurate story, this latest tale about Simpson and Evans having a “huge fight” is equally wrong.
