Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross were not recently arguing during a dinner in London, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct a claim about them fighting because their E! reality show, "Ashlee + Evan," is "in danger of being canceled." We hear the couple is perfectly happy, and there are talks about another season of the series.
According to Life & Style, after Simpson joined her husband at the MTV EMAs in Bilboa, Spain, the "two jetted off to London for a date night at celebrity hot spot Nobu, but the evening was anything but romantic." A supposed "eyewitness" tells the tabloid, "They barely spoke to one another." The unnamed "source" further alleges, "Evan spent the majority of their dinner on his phone, and Ashlee was clearly [expletive] off." "They didn't seem like they wanted to be there. When they did talk, it seemed forced," adds the tipster, who seems to have been a bit too fixated on the musical couple.
The magazine's article then speculates the cause of Ross and Simpson's purported dinner argument may have been how their reality series is allegedly "having big problems." Next, the tabloid quotes an anonymous "source" as contending, "Ratings are bad, and it's in danger of being canceled." The outlet doesn't make clear whether the source is the same person who watched them eat at Nobu, but nevertheless it editorializes that if the show gets dropped from E!, it would be a good thing since the series has supposedly "put a lot of stress on the couple."
While the publication predicated its article on an untraceable and unaccountable "source," Simpson's rep, speaking on her behalf, tells Gossip Cop on the record, the tabloid's story is "false." On the contrary, the spokesperson notes there are discussions already about "new episodes." Furthermore, we're assured they remain "in love" and are currently gearing up to tour together in January. Obviously, Ross and Simpson would not go on a tour, with stops in New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles and other cities, or perform together at the annual Nashville Christmas Parade on December 1 if they were having problems with one another.
Life & Style and its related publications have been trying this false narrative about them fight and having marital issues for a long time. For instance, Star published an untrue tale about how Simpson and Ross had a huge fight at the 2017 AMAs, claiming there was "no interaction between them at all." Additionally, earlier in the year, Gossip Cop busted yet another of its sister magazines, OK!, when it wrongly reported Ross and Evan were having marriage problems. Clearly, they're still not only a couple, but they're also making (beautiful) music together, and may do more episodes of their reality show "Ashlee + Evan." Lastly, Simpson and Evans were the picture of happiness, kissing at the MTV EMAs two weeks ago.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
