A blog claims the real reason that Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson split is because he wouldn't hep her brother Frankie Grande host "Saturday Night Live." The story is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can debunk it.

Just one day prior to the singer and comedian's breakup last month, they were spotted backstage together at "SNL." According to Naughty Gossip, the exes got into a "huge fight" following the show over her older brother, who's a dancer, actor, reality star and YouTube personality.

An alleged insider tells the site, "Frankie wanted to go with them and meet producers so that he could discuss hosting the show. Ariana didn't think Pete was being as helpful or as respectful to her brother as she wanted, and this caused the monster fight." The questionable source adds, "Everyone close to Ariana knows that Frankie is her best friend. If he doesn't like you, you are gone. Frankie is the most powerful man in her world and anyone that dates her, needs to understand that they will never be able to get between this brother and sister duo."

The blog's account of events is completely fabricated. Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who assures us that Grande's brother didn't play a role in her split. Reputable outlets such as People magazine have noted that the death of Grande's ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, who died of an overdose in September, was a catalyst in her decision to call off her engagement.

The publication further noted that Miller's death "had a huge, negative impact" on Grande and "made her rethink many things in her life," specifically getting married to Davidson after only a few months of dating. TMZ similarly reported that Miller's death "was the breaking point" that led to Grande and Davidson's split. There's not a single outlet in the world aside from Naughty Gossip that has pinned the blame on the singer's brother. The premise about Davidson not introducing Frankie to "SNL" producers is entirely made-up.

It's worth noting, Frankie gushed about his sister's engagement to Davidson when they were still together back in August. During an interview at the 2018 MTV VMAs, the YouTube star said, "I love Pete," adding, "Because he's so chill and he adores [my sister], which is great." Of course, the relationship ended, but it's clear that Frankie approved of the "SNL" star. The idea that he was the reason behind the split is simply false.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
