Anne Hathaway and her husband Adam Shulman are not having marriage problems because they're fighting over where to live, despite a false tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the nonexistent drama. We're told it's entirely fabricated.
According to OK!, the actress wants to leave New York City and move back to Los Angeles to focus on her movie career, but her husband of five years insists they raise their young son in Manhattan. A so-called "source" tells the magazine, "Since Anne's Judy Garland biopic seems to be on hold indefinitely, she needs this move now more than ever. That was a huge letdown for her, so she's pushing hard, but Adam isn't budging."
The outlet's questionable insider goes on to say that Shulman "feels like they just don't have a good support system in L.A.," and the supposed conflict is taking a toll on their relationship. "Anne is telling friends she's sacrificed a lot for Adam and now it's his turn," adds the alleged source. "She told Adam she's going back to L.A. whether he comes along or not."
Only, there's one major issue with the tabloid's bogus story: Hathaway and Shulman have homes in both New York and Los Angeles. A rep for the actress tells Gossip Cop that the spouses "spend equal time on both coasts, dependent on where she might need to film." Also, there are plenty of movie stars who choose to live on the east coast and still manage to have successful Hollywood careers. Regardless, Hathaway is bicoastal, so it's a non-issue for the actress.
It's also worth noting, Hathaway and Shulman recently purchased a home in Connecticut in addition to their Manhattan property, so she clearly enjoys spending time on the east coast. Additionally, Hathaway shot films in both Spain and the Caribbean last year, so she often has to travel for work anyway. Unfortunately, OK! has a habit of making up stories about the actress, so we're not particularly surprised by the phony article.
Gossip Cop recently busted the tabloid for falsely claiming that Hathaway was fighting with studio executives for complete creative control of the upcoming Barbie movie. Shortly before that fabrication, we called out the magazine for wrongly alleging that the actress was in a years-long feud with Julia Roberts. This latest article surrounding Hathaway's marriage and living situation is equally untrue.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
