Anne Hathaway did not feud with her co-stars on the set of her new movie The Hustle, despite a false report alleging the actress was a “diva” during filming. Gossip Cop can debunk the bogus story. There’s simply no truth to it.
According to Star, the Oscar-winning actress had a major attitude while shooting her new comedy, in which she and Rebel Wilson play con artists. A supposed source tells the outlet, “Anne managed to get pretty much everyone’s backs up during filming, and quite honestly it’s a relief it’s over. She came across as prickly and full of herself.”
The alleged insider further contends Hathaway had the crew “on edge” by making “petty demands for food and coffee,” adding, “She thought she was the queen bee. If someone walked by too close, she glared at them.” The seemingly phony tipster concludes, “She may be an Oscar winner, but she sure can be rude at times!”
The unreliable outlet makes a pretty blanket statement by claiming the entire cast disliked Hathaway, without bothering to mention specific names. One thing is certain, she wasn’t at odds with Wilson during shooting. Hathaway’s co-star honored her when she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this month. The two actresses have also displayed their close friendship on the film’s publicity tour.
Significantly, the magazine provides zero proof to back up the assertion that Hathaway was “rude” to anyone else involved in the production, and also hides behind an anonymous and untraceable “source” to sell its premise. Gossip Cop reached out to a rep qualified to speak on the actress’s behalf, who tells us the magazine’s story is “nonsense.” Hathaway’s spokesperson assures us she “had a blast making the film,” and the notion that she was difficult on set is baseless.
Unfortunately, we’re not surprised by Star‘s phony story. Last year, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for wrongly reporting Hathaway was pregnant with her second baby. That clearly wasn’t the case. The actress still isn’t expecting another child at this time.
This also isn’t the first time we’ve had to call out the magazine for creating nonexistent drama on the set of one of Hathaway’s movies. Last year, Gossip Cop debunked the tabloid’s article about Sandra Bullock trying to prevent the cast of Ocean’s 8 from feuding with each other. That made-up article even alleged that Hathaway was the one being particularly difficult. The outlet has no insight into what’s going on behind the scenes of the actress’s films.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
