Anne Hathaway did NOT warn Daisy Ridley not to date Chris Pine, despite a fabricated tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s “completely false.”

All three stars are featured on Barbara Streisand’s new album, Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway, for which they collaborated with the legendary singer on classic show tunes. So, what does this have to do with a romance? Well, according to Star, Pine has been pursuing Ridley, but Hathaway told the Star Wars actress to steer clear of the Star Trek actor. “Anne said that while she loves Chris as a friend, she does not think he is good boyfriend material,” says the tabloid’s so-called “source.”

The magazine’s dubious insider further claims that Hathaway also told Pine to “back off and find someone else to mess around with.” “She feels protective of Daisy,” adds the outlet’s supposed source. But Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Hathaway, who exclusively assures us that the tabloid’s entire account of events is “completely false.” And despite Hathaway and Ridley being featured on the same track on Streisand’s album, we’re told “Anne recorded her part of the song separately,” and the two actresses don’t know each other.

Unfortunately, Gossip Cop isn’t particularly surprised by the tabloid’s bogus report. We recently busted Star for falsely alleging that Hathaway was angry about “Real Housewives” cast members walking the red carpet at the Alice Through the Looking Glass premiere. Gossip Cop also debunked the magazine’s phony claim that Pine was hitting on his Wonder Woman co-star Gal Gadot.

And we also called out the publication for making up a tall tale about Ridley not wanting to do press with Force Awakens co-star John Boyega because of his alleged ego. Star has proven yet again that it knows just about nothing when it comes to stars.
