Are the producers of the upcoming live-action Barbie movie getting angry with Anne Hathaway’s alleged demands about the project? That’s the claim in one of this week’s new tabloids, but Gossip Cop has the truth.

It was announced last month that Hathaway is in talks to star in Sony Pictures’ Barbie movie after Amy Schumer dropped out of the film due to scheduling conflicts. An article in the latest issue of OK!, however, now claims the actress may not get the role because she’s insisting on too much creative control.

A supposed “source” tells the magazine, “There are so many changes she wants made to the script and her character, it’s becoming a completely different film.” The outlet’s dubious insider adds, “There’s been a lot of ‘I don’t understand, why don’t we do it like this instead?’ says the questionable source. “Anne needs to relax and tap into her sense of humor for this film, or she’ll kill the whole thing.”

But Gossip Cop checked in with Hathaway’s rep, who dismissed the tabloid’s report as “completely bogus,” before exclusively assuring us there’s “no truth whatsoever” to the article’s account of the situation. Oddly enough, this isn’t the first time we’ve had to debunk a bogus OK! story surrounding the upcoming Barbie movie. Gossip Cop recently busted the tabloid for wrongly reporting Schumer quit the film due to Twitter backlash, which wasn’t at all the reason she left the project.

As for phony drama involving Hathaway, Gossip Cop previously called out OK! for making up a story about a therapist being present on the set of Ocean’s Eight to prevent the actress and other cast members from fighting with each other. This latest report from the unreliable magazine is equally untrue.
