Anna Kendrick and Gwen Stefani did not “hit a sour note” or feud while recording “Can’t Stop The Feeling” with Justin Timberlake, despite a new tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this off-key claim. We’re told it’s “untrue.”

According to Star magazine, during the recording session, Kendrick “decided she was in charge,” and spent the entire time “doling out ‘dos and don’ts'” to Stefani. A so-called “witness” tells the tabloid, “Anna was so incredibly annoying,” adding, “She’d suggest things Gwen could do to sound better, like change her pitch or tone.” The alleged source claims, “Gwen stayed professional but just wanted to tell her to shut the hell up.”

Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling,” of course, is on the soundtrack for the upcoming animated film Trolls, for which he, Kendrick, and Stefani provide character voices. But the tabloid alleges, Stefani is “already dreading having to work with Anna to promote the flick.” “Anna always comes across as so bubbly and cute, but she doesn’t have a filter,” says the magazine’s supposed “insider,” before continuing, “Sometimes she doesn’t think before she speaks, and that got on Gwen’s nerves.”

And Star doesn’t think to fact-check its story before publishing. Gossip Cop, however, did investigate the magazine’s claims. A rep for Stefani tells us the tabloid’s entire tale is “untrue.” There was no bad blood at all between the two women.

Interestingly, the tabloid makes no mention in its piece how it falsely reported in December 2015 that Stefani was pregnant with Blake Shelton’s baby. Gossip Cop, of course, exclusively debunked that fabricated cover story. Much like that entirely wrong article and others, the latest about Stefani and Kendrick hitting a “sour note” while recording “Can’t Stop The Feeling” is also completely made up.
