A story alleging Anna Faris questions whether Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger‘s love will last is wrong. The claim was picked up by a site that’s known for rewriting other outlets’ articles rather than doing actual reporting. In this case, the website’s take on the dynamic between Faris, Pratt and Schwarzenegger is untrue, and Gossip Cop can correct it.
This time around, the International Business Times‘s first mistake was poaching its premise from RadarOnline. The mistakes quickly continue from there. In the very first sentence of its article, the site writes how “Faris is not in good terms with Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger.” Perhaps the grammatical gaffe was a result of the IBT’s emphasis on rewriting other outlets’ stories at breakneck speed.
Regardless, the website then quotes RadarOnline’s anonymous and seemingly fabricated “source” as saying, “Anna isn’t as happy for Chris and Katherine as people think,” adding how the “Mom” star feels her ex-husband fell for Schwarzenegger too “quickly.” It’s further alleged Faris has been going around telling people Schwarzenegger and Pratt “won’t last.” Of course, neither of those outlets can point to one single person to whom Faris badmouthed the engaged couple.
As opposed to those discredited sites, which hitched their inaccurate tales of (nonexistent) conflict on a nameless, untraceable and possibly made-up “source,” Gossip Cop will quote Faris herself. Contrary to the report about how the actress thinks her ex-husband’s relationship won’t last, Faris personally congratulated Pratt and Schwarzenegger on their engagement. After Schwarzenegger posted to Instagram a photo of her and Pratt, which prominently featured her engagement ring, Faris wrote a comment that read, “I’m so happy for you both.” She continued, “I love you guys.”
But that wasn’t all. Not long after that, Faris even offered to officiate Pratt and Schwarzenegger’s wedding on her podcast, “Anna Faris Is Unqualified.” The actress reiterated she’s “so happy” for Pratt and explained how she believes in “the idea of expanding family and love with [their son] Jack.” Of Schwarzenegger, Faris gushed, “I love her,” and further expressed she’s “happy that they found each other” because they’re both “amazing people.”
Of course, the IBT didn’t include any of that crucial information because, as noted above, it habitually just rewrites different websites’ stories without doing reporting of its own, and none of that was in the original tale it cribbed which falsely contended Faris thinks Pratt and Schwarzenegger won’t last. The flip side, of course, is that the outlet is sometimes accurate, particularly when it rips off Gossip Cop‘s articles, which it repeatedly does on a daily basis.
On the other side of the spectrum, Gossip Cop vigorously fact-checks every story. We looked into the claim and determined beyond doubt that Faris is not feuding with Pratt and Schwarzenegger, nor does she think their romance will quickly implode. We fully expect the IBT to rewrite this article from Gossip Cop in… 3, 2, 1.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
