Has Angelina Jolie been "in tears over losing" Brad Pitt? There are rumors circulating that she's "told friends she made a huge mistake" in filing for divorce. Gossip Cop, however, can separate fact from fiction.
According to Celebrity Insider, "It seems like Angelina Jolie cannot make up her mind when it comes to the kind of relationship she wants to have with her estranged husband, Brad Pitt. One day, she is fighting with Mr. Pitt, and the next, she wants to reconcile and try to save their failed marriage." The site alleges that now, though, she's "ready to beg for a second chance despite the fact that she is the one who filed for divorce almost one year ago." Actually, Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016, which is more than a year ago. Clearly, this webloid isn't concerned with accurate details.
In fact, this article is based on a discredited Pitt-Jolie cover story that was published last week by Life & Style. Picking up these allegations from the tabloid, the online publication contends, "The Oscar-winning actress reportedly revealed to her friends that she is heartbroken, misses Pitt, and often cries at night because she feels lonely." Quoting from the gossip magazine, an "insider" supposedly maintains, "She's been in tears over losing him. She's told friends, 'I made the mistake of a lifetime.'"
Never does Celebrity Insider consider why someone from Jolie's "entourage" would actually betray her trust and leak such confidential information. The blog also doesn't mention that Jolie just spoke about Pitt in a podcast interview, during which she gave no indication that she wants to reconcile. The only remotely plausible contention is that she might shed a tear or two at times. A few months ago, Jolie herself revealed that she has cried in the shower. But that didn't mean in July that she wanted to reunite with Pitt, and it still doesn't mean she does now in December. In fact, Jolie recently told Vanity Fair that they're "both working towards the same goal," which is an amicable divorce.
The truth is that nothing significant has changed between the estranged spouses. They remain separated and no reconciliation appears to be on the horizon, Gossip Cop is told by both their camps. When the site says Jolie "cannot make up her mind" when it comes to Pitt, it's actually the gossip media, which constantly changes the narrative, that falsely makes it seem that way. The tabloids and webloids swing back and forth from claiming the stars are reconciling to claiming they hate each other's guts. This is done to sell copies and score clicks, not because it is a truthful representation of reality. If you want spin, there's Celebrity Insider and Life & Style. But if you want the truth, stick to Gossip Cop.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
