Angelina Jolie is not in a “secret romance” with a “mystery man” in Malibu, despite a manufactured report. Gossip Cop can correct this claim. We’re told it’s false.
“Angelina Jolie’s Secret Romance: Inside Her Private Malibu Rendezvous With New Man,” reads a headline from the repeatedly discredited HollywoodLife. The site goes on to claim Jolie has been “enjoying” a secret relationship with her new “mystery man.” A seemingly made-up source is then quoted as saying in unnaturally expository language, “Angelina and her new man, a handsome British entrepreneur, have held a few secret rendezvous at the Malibu estate where she has been staying.” The outlet’s alleged source adds that Jolie finds the “secrecy” of their relationship “sexy” and “exciting.”
Fake news alert: If HollywoodLies, as it’s nicknamed, knows all about her “secret rendezvous at the Malibu estate” she’s renting, and that this supposed new man is a “British entrepreneur,” then why doesn’t it know the purported new boyfriend’s name? How old or how tall is the guy? What color is his hair? Was he ever married before? Of course, the site doesn’t have any answers because there is no such man in her life. The often debunked webloid is simply picking up an untrue story from an equally unreliable gossip magazine and adding its own made-up details so that it can claim an “exclusive.” But the webloid is exclusively lying.
One would think if such a high-profile actress like Jolie was dating a good-looking European entrepreneur, some of the reputable magazines and websites both in the U.S. and abroad would have been all over it. Instead, it’s just places like HollywoodLife that are spinning this fake claim. Regardless, Gossip Cop investigated the story, and it should come as no surprise, but the outlet’s story is completely untrue. A source close to Jolie assures us the entire article is “false.” We’re told she isn’t even involved in a new romance, so there are no private “rendezvouses” in Malibu or anywhere else.
The fictitious narrative about Jolie and a new boyfriend was first spread by In Touch. Gossip Cop quickly shot down the tabloid’s untrue cover story that wrongly maintained Jolie’s getting married to a wealthy Brit. Still, unfounded rumors about Jolie’s love life continued to spiral out of control. And the HollywoodLies’ article about her holing up with an unnamed “British entrepreneur” is just another manufactured wrinkle.
It should be noted, Gossip Cop has busted the webloid for concocting several other false Jolie romance rumors. For instance, we nailed the site when it wrongly claimed Jolie was dating Jared Leto. And we also exposed the webloid to ridicule for its fictitious article that alleged Jolie was hooking up with Johnny Depp. Like those and many more stories churned out by HollywoodLife, the latest tale about her in a “secret romance” in Malibu is yet another example of fake news.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
