Angelina Jolie is not "leaning" on Natalie Portman amid her divorce from Brad Pitt, despite a made-up report. Gossip Cop can debunk the bogus storyline. It's complete fiction.
An article in the latest issue of OK! says the two actresses are secretly best friends who've bonded over their shared passion for film and humanitarian work. A supposed source tells the magazine, "They've both found it hard to make female pals in the industry and relate to each other in that way. Angie and Natalie really get each other. They're two highbrow people who see themselves as different from most of the Hollywood types."
The magazine's sister outlet, RadarOnline, takes the narrative one step further by claiming that Portman has been helping Jolie navigate her divorce and custody battle. A supposed source tells the blog, "They used to have dinner dates with their husbands [Brad Pitt and Benjamin Millepied] and now that Angie is single, Natalie is one of the only people she feels like she can lean on."
It's worth noting, there's zero evidence to suggest the two couples ever socialized together. In fact, there's not much proof that the two actresses know each other very well at all. Jolie and Portman posed for a photo together in September 2017 at the Telluride Film Festival, where they participated on a panel titled "Wonder Women." The actresses were also joined by former tennis player Bille Jean King and chef Alice Walters. Jolie and Portman haven't been photographed together either before or after the 2017 event.
Meanwhile, no one from Jolie or Portman's camps were aware of the two women being best friends. Gossip Cop is told by sources close to the situation that the story seems random and made-up. It's more likely that the tabloid uncovered an old photo of the two actresses posing together, and decided to create a fictional narrative out of it.
Last October, OK! falsely claimed that Portman and her husband were living "separate lives" and headed for a split. The happy spouses are still very much together. It's clear the publication doesn't have a reliable source close to the actress, so there's no reason to believe the magazine would have any insight into her relationship with Jolie.
Meanwhile, this isn't the first time RadarOnline has made up a story about Jolie "leaning" on another famous actress amid her split. Last year, Gossip Cop busted the blog for falsely claiming Nicole Kidman was supporting the actress during her divorce from Pitt. A similar premise is now being applied to Portman, but it's no more accurate.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
