Angelina Jolie has not hired famed "reputation guru" Michael Sitrick to repair her image, despite a false tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the claim. Sitrick himself tells us the actress isn't a client.
According to Woman's Day New Zealand, however, Jolie has enlisted Sitrick to do some major damage control amid her acrimonious divorce from Brad Pitt. An alleged insider tells the magazine, "Ange knows how badly her profile has been affected, especially over the past couple of weeks. Even close pals have started to turn their backs on her and she's convinced she is losing out on roles because she's become a hate figure. She even overheard one well-known producer calling her 'the wicked witch of Hollywood.'"
From the start, the magazine's article is flawed. Jolie has three high-profile projects lined up, the sequel to Disney's Maleficent, the fantasy film Come Away and the animated movie The One and Only Ivan. The fact that all three projects are aimed at families gives the outlet's claims even less credence.
Still, the questionable source continues, "Ange has hit rock bottom. She's realized that her legal team's tactics aren't working and are in fact turning everyone against her. She feels extremely lonely and isolated, and knows that if she doesn't go about fixing her profile soon, she could be left with no career at the end of this divorce battle."
The supposed insider goes on to say that Jolie's people "fear she's close to having a nervous breakdown," so Sitrick is being brought in to get the public to side with her. The crisis manager's past clients have included Chris Brown, Paris Hilton, Kobe Bryant and even Harvey Weinstein, who he eventually dropped. One of Sitrick's tactics, according to the publication, is to convince Jolie to sit down with her estranged husband and make peace.
The magazine's bogus report is coming from an anonymous and untraceable "insider," but Gossip Cop checked in with Sitrick himself, who tells us on the record that Jolie is simply "not a client." It should be noted, when Jolie hired crisis manager Judy Smith back in 2016, the news was widely reported by dozens of publications. Given Sitrick's notoriety in the industry, it would have made the rounds if Jolie had actually hired him. A foreign tabloid wouldn't be the only outlet saying it. Regardless, Sitrick confirms to Gossip Cop that he's not working with the actress.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
