One of the blogs is claiming to “exclusively” know what Angelina Jolie’s kids think of the blonde wig she’s wearing for her new movie. The story is completely made-up. Gossip Cop can confirm that no one in the actress’s trusted inner circle spoke to the website.

Photos recently emerged of Jolie wearing a curly blonde wig on the set of the upcoming fantasy drama Come Away. HollywoodLife now wants readers to believe it knows how her children are reacting to their mom’s new look. “We hear her kids think it’s hysterical,” writes the unreliable outlet, which frequently makes up “exclusives” about the actress.

A so-called “source” tells the site that oldest boys Maddox and Pax “are very blasé about the whole thing,” but their younger siblings, especially 10-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, “still get a kick out of seeing their mom play dress up, they love it.” The alleged insider adds, “Angelina sometimes plays the part of her new character too with them, which they find hilarious.” The questionable tipster goes on to say that the actress “often allows the kids to dress up in her wigs and costumes, which of course, is their favorite thing ever!”

Here’s what’s really happening. Photos of Jolie wearing a blonde wig have been making the rounds lately, so HollywoodLife decided to get in on the action by pretending to have “exclusive” insight into what her kids think about it. Jolie’s rep has told us repeatedly that no one in the actress’s camp is sharing any personal information about her with the blog. That’s especially true when it comes to information about her children.

The site came up with its fictional story because Jolie’s blonde wig is a topic in this week’s celebrity news cycle. This is the typical formula for the website. For instance, when false rumors emerged last year about Jolie dating Drake, the blog concocted an article about her kids’ opinion on the matter. The outlet said that Jolie’s children believed it would be the “coolest thing ever” if their mom were to date the rapper. That report was also based on information from an anonymous “source,” but Jolie’s spokesperson assured us that no one close to the actress talks about her kids to sites like HollywoodLife.

Here’s another recent example of how the blog just capitalizes on any news related to Jolie. Last week, photos emerged of Brad Pitt hugging co-star Margaret Qualley on the set of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. What did HollywoodLife do? It pretended to “exclusively” know Jolie’s reaction to the photo of Pitt and Qualley. These ongoing pieces have more in common with fan fiction than they do with journalism.
