Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's kids have not "gone wild" since their parents split, despite an inaccurate report in one of this week's new tabloids. The article contends that the exes' six children have been acting out and fighting with each other over the past year, but Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we can exclusively set the record straight.
A so-called "source" tells OK!, "They've always been a handful, but they've taken it to the next level. They miss their dad desperately, and Angie's on such a guilt trip that she's not disciplining them. She doesn't like to set rules anyway, so there's lots of screaming and door slamming." The outlet's questionable insider goes on to say the kids don't like living in Los Angeles, adding, "It's such a fishbowl, but it's where Angie needs to be right now."
The seemingly phony source further claims Jolie "is trying to cheer the kids up with shopping trips and fancy toys, but it's not helping." The alleged insider continues, "She's trying hard to be a supermom and keep everybody happy, but what the kids could really use is a little tough love." However, while a divorce is never easy on the kids, the tabloid's assertion that Pitt and Jolie's children have been spiraling out of control since their parents' breakup simply isn't true.
A source close to Jolie exclusively assures Gossip Cop that the magazine's breakdown of the family's circumstance is entirely "false." In fact, the actress's confidante pointed us to Jolie's recent New York Times interview in which she said that her children have been "getting better" as time goes on. The Oscar winner added, "They really help me so much. We're really such a unit. They're the best friends I've ever had. Nobody in my life has ever stood by me more." As for the outlet's claim that the kids don't like L.A., Jolie also revealed in the New York Times interview that her brood happily helped decorate and pick out the furniture for their new home in the area.
This also isn't the first time OK! has published a bogus story surrounding the actress's children. Gossip Cop recently called out the tabloid for falsely claiming Jolie banned her 16-year-old son Maddox from dating. Shortly before that nonsense, we busted the outlet for making up a story about Jolie not letting Shiloh have friends other than her siblings. This latest article about the famous family is equally unfounded.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
