Angelina Jolie's health is frequently the topic of tabloids reports. Gossip Cop has debunked many bogus stories about the actress supposedly suffering crises related to her physical and mental state. Here's the truth about five rumors on the subject.
Just last week, Gossip Cop busted NW for falsely claiming Jolie was at risk for bone disease because she refused to eat. The magazine contended the actress was starving herself while in New Mexico shooting her upcoming movie, Those Who Wish Me Dead. A supposed source told the outlet that Jolie "has the appetite of a bird," mostly as a result of the stress from her divorce and custody battle with Brad Pitt.
"Now she's in New Mexico and she's completely focused on her work but she really needs to focus on her health," added the alleged insider. Around the same time the phony story emerged, a vibrant-looking Jolie was photographed taking her kids out for sushi during a break from shooting her upcoming film. There was simply no truth to the premise.
In April, Gossip Cop called out the National Enquirer for wrongly reporting Jolie was "dying" and leaving her fortune to her oldest son, Maddox. The outlet, which failed to even explain how the actress was "dying," insisted she was cutting her other five kids out of her will because Maddox was the only one who took her side in the divorce. In addition to the actress being in perfectly good health, she certainly hasn't shunned her other children, all of whom are currently with her in New Mexico.
In March, Gossip Cop corrected an Enquirer article alleging Jolie had developed a drinking problem after learning that Pitt was meeting up with Jennifer Aniston "behind her back." The tabloid claimed the actress had been "hitting the bottle" and "downing wine" because she discovered Pitt and his first ex-wife secretly got together at the Sony Pictures lot to discuss film projects. Only, reps for both Pitt and Aniston told us no such meeting ever took place. Jolie never suffered a breakdown or became an alcoholic over a secret meeting that never happened.
Back in February, Gossip Cop busted the Globe for making up a story about Jolie suffering a health crisis over Pitt being in a "romance" with Charlize Theron. The biggest problem with the magazine's story was that Pitt and Theron never dated, as a rep for the movie star told us countless times and as time has proven. Still, the tabloid insisted Jolie was "wasting away" while dealing with extreme loneliness and anorexia, brought on by Pitt supposedly dating "her rival." In reality, of course, Jolie never suffered any health issues over her estranged husband's imaginary romance.
Last October, Gossip Cop debunked a Star story alleging Jolie was "73 pounds and hanging by a thread" amid the stress of her custody battle with Pitt. A so-called "source" was quoted as saying, "Angie is worryingly thin and none of her clothes fit properly," adding that her diet consisted of "crushed ice and maybe she'll nibble on a piece of pretzel."
In reality, Jolie has always been thin, including during the time that her marriage to Pitt was intact. The Oscar-winner never lost weight as a result of her divorce. Additionally, she's been shooting back-to-back films while caring for six kids, a feat which would be impossible for someone "hanging by a thread." In fact, Jolie was spotted hiking in the Hollywood Hills with several of her children around the time that inaccurate report hit newsstands.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
