Angelina Jolie is NOT “in crisis” over the poor reception of her new movie By the Sea, despite a fabricated tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this story. We’re told there’s “no truth” to it.
According to OK!, the negative reviews and disappointing box office performance of Jolie and Brad Pitt’s new, which she wrote and directed, is taking a toll on her physical well-being. A so-called “insider” tells the tabloid, “She looks sick, and everyone is worried. She’s not taking care of herself, and her friends fear something serious is going on.”
The tabloid’s “source” further claims, “She’s become convinced her career is souring,” and she’s allegedly “humiliated” by how her movie was received. This is all simply untrue. Just last week, Gossip Cop exclusively corrected a similar report from the magazine’s sister publication, Star, claiming Pitt was the one “humiliated” by the film. A source close to the couple assured us the tabloid’s claims were “complete nonsense.”
Furthermore, By the Sea is a low-budget passion project that was never meant to be a blockbuster. However, Jolie’s previous film, Maleficent, was the biggest hit of the actress’s career. The Disney movie earned nearly $800 million worldwide and a sequel is currently in the works. In other words, Jolie’s career is far from “souring.”
Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the actress, and we’re exclusively told there’s “no truth” to the tabloid’s report, and that Jolie is proud of By the Sea.
