Angelina Jolie’s young daughters, Shiloh and Vivienne, have arbitrarily been dragged into the sexual assault scandal surrounding Harvey Weinstein after their mom revealed the producer sexually harassed her in the ’90s. Of course, the kids have absolutely nothing to do with the situation, but that didn’t stop a tabloid from making them part of the narrative. Gossip Cop can expose this ridiculous clickbait.

As Gossip Cop reported, Jolie told the New York Times earlier this month that Weinstein made unwanted sexual advances towards her in a hotel room in 1998, around the time she co-starred in the Miramax film Playing By Heart. OK! has now managed to wedge the actress’s daughters into the story with unrelated paparazzi photos of the girls shopping with their nanny and bodyguard in Los Angeles. “Vivienne and Shiloh Jolie-Pitt Go Shopping Days After Angelina’s Harvey Weinstein Bombshell,” reads a bizarre headline on the magazine’s website.

The accompanying article notes that Jolie has “not gone into hiding” following her revelations about Weinstein, while her 9 and 11-year-old daughters have “also not backed out of the public eye after their mother’s claims.” Of course, people generally go into hiding when they’re ashamed of something, so it makes no sense why the victimized actress would keep out of sight, let alone her kids who aren’t connected to any of this. In fact, it’s Weinstein who’s gone into hiding at a treatment center in Arizona.

Still, the unreliable publication ends its absurd article by asking, “How do you think Shiloh and Vivienne are doing amid all the drama?” For starters, it’s likely the preteen girls aren’t even aware of the events surrounding the disgraced mogul. Additionally, their mom isn’t even a primary figure in the Weinstein scandal, as Jolie is among dozens of women who’ve come forward with stories about the producer’s alleged misconduct. Simply put, OK!’s article is just preposterous clickbait. The only story here is that Jolie’s daughters went shopping, and tying that to Weinstein is both irrational and wrong.
