Have Angelina Jolie and Colin Farrell been secretly dating for two months? That's the claim in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop can clear up the phony romance rumors.
Last month, the actress brought four of her kids to the premise of Disney's Dumbo remake, in which Farrell stars. According to OK!, the reason the actress attended the event is that she's in a secret romance with the film's leading man. "Angelina was there to support Colin," says a supposed source, who further contends that the two had a fling while shooting the 2004 period drama Alexander.
The story is inaccurate from the very start. As Gossip Cop has already stressed, Jolie and Farrell never hooked up while making Alexander. That bogus rumor was started in 2013 by Perez Hilton, but sources close to both stars dismissed it and there's zero evidence suggesting the former co-stars were ever an item. Still, the magazine's alleged insider adds, "Angelina was really into Colin back then and has always considered him the one that got away."
The questionable tipster goes on to say that Jolie and Farrell are "keeping things on the DL for now," but "they're both so excited to give their relationship another go and see what happens." As for why their so-called "fling" fizzled out, the "source" says Farrell was known for "womanizing and partying" back then, so she moved on to Brad Pitt, who could offer her stability and "wanted to settle down and raise a family."
The suspicious insider further maintains that Jolie decided to reconnect with Farrell now that he's mellowed and become a dad to two sons. The unreliable tipster, however, doesn't bother to mention exactly how the two linked up again. The seemingly imaginary insider adds, "After everything Angie went through with Brad - their nasty split, the whole custody battle — the attention feels nice. Normally, she keeps her love life private, but word is she's telling her inner circle that Colin's amazing in all the right ways."
None of this is true. OK! kicked off this fake premise less than a month ago by falsely claiming Jolie wanted to date Farrell. A mutual pal of ours and the actress assured Gossip Cop the claim was simply "not true." Nothing has changed in the short time since. It's worth noting, the magazine said a few weeks ago that the actress was pursuing the Dumbo star, but now it claims she's been quietly seeing him for two months. The tabloid can't even keep its own storyline consistent.
Earlier this week, OK!'s sister outlet, RadarOnline, made up a similar story about Jolie and Farrell "rekindling their romance." Here's what's really happening. Jolie frequently takes her kids to movie premieres, and Disney's Dumbo was the latest one they attended. Farrell just so happens to appear in the film. This inspired the gossip media to create a love connection that doesn't exist.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
