Angelina Jolie is the subject of more phony medical crisis alarmism in the new National Enquirer, an outlet that has spent years publishing sensational stories predicting Jolie’s imminent death from a variety of ailments. Gossip Cop can bust the new report, which claims Brad Pitt is upset that Jolie has allegedly put off cancer surgery in order to have another baby.

“The surgery would be a preventative step that she’s already told the press she will take,” explains a supposed “source” for the Enquirer. “But now she’s put the brakes on it.” According to the tabloid, Jolie “hears her biological clock ticking” and is “convinced that having another child will strengthen her marriage.”

An “insider” tells the magazine, “She and Brad spend so little time together because of their careers. She feels that a final baby before she turns 40 would somehow give them the romantic restart she yearns for.” Except Pitt is freaked out, says the Enquirer. “Brad is desperate for Angelina to have the surgery,” explains the magazine’s insider. “He wants her to see the bigger medical picture.”

The “bigger picture” is that the Enquirer has been making outrageous claims concerning both Pitt and Jolie’s health for years, and Gossip Cop frequently has to clean up the magazine’s mess. Last month, the outlet falsely claimed Jolie was demanding Pitt go to rehab. Last October, she was supposedly on the brink of a “breakdown.” Last May, Jolie had allegedly “plummeted” in weight and had “new cancer drama.” None of these stories was true.

Forgetting the total lack of logic in the new Enquirer report (like the implication that Jolie and Pitt’s six children aren’t already enough to “strengthen” their marriage), there’s the despicable, continuing trend of using Jolie’s double mastectomy and openness about her cancer fears as a tool for spreading unrelated, sensationalized stories about her health and relationship with Pitt. A source close to the situation tells Gossip Cop the latest story is “totally false.”
