Angelina Jolie has finally heard and seen some of the fake news stories dominating searches, which allege she's now dating an unnamed wealthy British man, and has called the rumors "untrue." A source in close contact with Jolie exclusively tells Gossip Cop that while she "doesn't pay attention" to tabloid and online tales about her, she's made it very clear that the reports were fabricated and that her sole focus is on her six kids.
A quick search, for instance, of "Angelina Jolie" yielded three stories, each of which is 100 percent false. The Hindustan Times, which cobbled together made-up claims from In Touch and HollywoodLife, ran with a headline that reads, "Angelina Jolie is marry 'British man' and Brad Pitt finds it 'sickening.'" India.com, which similarly has a prominent spot in searches, alleges Jolie is "involved in a secret romance," and that she and a description-less lover "keep meeting at the actress' Malibu estate." That fabricated tidbit originally came from HollywoodLife, which occupies another "Top stories" position, thanks to its concocted article titled, "Angelina Jolie's Secret Romance: Inside Her Private Malibu Rendezvous With New Man."
Apparently, the romance is so secret, not even Jolie or her inner circle know about it. Yet, HollywoodLies, as its sometimes known, somehow or another has information about the actress that no other outlet has heard about or can verify. The site boasts in its seemingly made-up article that it has "all the romantic details" about Jolie and her new boyfriend, yet it cannot provide anything that identifies the supposed "handsome British entrepreneur." Rather suspiciously, the webloid doesn't know his name, his age, his height, his hair color, or even anything vaguely related to his business. Incredibly, however, HollywoodLife claims to know what's "been happening all behind closed doors," including how Jolie finds her rendezvouses with this nameless individual to be "sexy and exciting."
A skeptic, as well as avid readers of that site, might suspect HollywoodLife's reporting was manufactured. Remember, this latest article is coming from the same outlet that was caught making up stories about Jolie and Jared Leto dating. It's also the webloid Gossip Cop busted when it wrongly maintained Jolie was hooking up with Johnny Depp. And yet its untrue claims helped propel three stories about Jolie to coveted positions in search.
Notwithstanding the bleak landscape in which fake news apparently is winning, Gossip Cop will continue to separate fact from fiction. And in this case, we're exclusively assured that Jolie is not having secret trysts with some nameless "wealthy Brit." In fact, she's let it be known those reports are entirely "untrue."
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
