One of this week's tabloids claims Angelina Jolie is "plotting revenge" on Brad Pitt with a series of TV interviews in which she'll take subtle digs at his parenting skills. The story is completely made-up. Gossip Cop can debunk it.

Last month, the estranged spouses finally settled their custody battle after reaching an agreement in which Pitt will get joint physical and legal custody of their six kids. According to Heat, the actress is furious about the terms of the settlement despite signing off on it, so she plans to publicly disparage her estranged husband, but in a sly matter.

An alleged insider tells the magazine, "Angelina is sick to death of the way she's been demonized, and she's more than ready to fight back. Part of their settlement includes a clause preventing her from directly publicly trashing him, but Ange is smart enough to find a way around that." The supposed source goes on to say that the actress is planning sit-down interviews in which she'll allude to Pitt's struggle with substance abuse under the guise of "promoting charities that support causes such as single moms dealing with alcoholic dads." The questionable tipster adds that Jolie will make "obvious digs at Brad that can't get her in trouble."

Gossip Cop, however, checked in with a mutual pal of ours and Jolie, who wasn't authorized to go on the record, but assures us the tabloid's article is fabricated. We're told the actress isn't coming up with thinly veiled way to belittle Pitt on TV. The magazine is suggesting that Jolie plans to advocate for charities with the ulterior motive of vilifying her ex. It's a ridiculous and untrue premise.

Meanwhile, nearly all of the reputable celebrity news outlet that covered Pitt and Jolie's custody agreement, such as E! News and "Entertainment Tonight," reported that the actress "is pleased to be entering the next stage and is relieved with the progress for the health of the family." Jolie has always acted in the best interest of her children throughout the custody ordeal. Condemning their dad on TV isn't her next course of action.

Heat is the same unreliable tabloid that Gossip Cop busted in October for falsely claiming that Jolie was hunting for a fourth husband. As time has shown, the actress has remained single and is entirely focused on her kids. This latest article is more fiction from the untrustworthy magazine.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
