Has Angelina Jolie really been throwing out all of Brad Pitt's belongings? That's the story in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we've learned the truth.

According to the Globe, the actress has been getting "vengeance" on her estranged husband by tossing all of his "prized possessions" in the trash. "Brad had a bunch of stuff that got mixed up with Angie's after the split, including books, DVDs, letters, sentimental items and valuable antiques," says a supposed source, who further contends that Jolie disposed of it all.

The alleged insider adds, "He's lucky he kept his art collection and books at his house - otherwise they might have ended up in the rubbish pile, too." The seemingly phony tipster adds, "Some of his books are rare first editions, but that wouldn't mean anything to Angie, except a chance to hit him where it hurts."

The tabloid's story doesn't make a lot of sense. Back in June 2017, Jolie purchased the Cecil B. DeMille estate in Los Angeles, where she lives with her six kids. Are we supposed to believe the actress has been holding on to Pitt's possessions for nearly two years, and just recently decided to toss them in the trash?

Additionally, the magazine's report isn't original. Back in October, Gossip Cop busted the Globe's sister outlet, RadarOnline, for making up a similar story about Jolie "destroying" Pitt's personal items. Despite the tabloid's premise being both illogical and recycled, we still checked in with a source close to the actress, who confirms the story is ridiculous. Jolie hasn't been throwing out Pitt's personal possessions, which weren't being stored at the house she purchased months after they had split.

Meanwhile, the Globe is hardly trustworthy when it comes to reporting accurately about the exes. Last June, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for wrongly reporting that Pitt and Jolie were calling off their divorce. That didn't happen. Last September, the unreliable outlet published a story about Jolie supposedly "begging" Pitt to take her back. That wasn't the case either.

Last month, the tabloid had an ongoing storyline about Pitt dating Charlize Theron, despite the two stars never being a couple. The magazine even came up with a phony story involving Jolie's reaction to Pitt and Theron dating. In reality, the actress had no reaction to a nonexistent romance. This latest article about the actress tossing out her estranged husband's belongings is more fiction.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
