Angelina Jolie is not inviting Brad Pitt over to have Thanksgiving with her and their six kids, despite a bogus report. Gossip Cop can debunk the false story. There's zero truth to it.
According to HollywoodLife, the actress wants her children to "have both their parents around" for the holidays and plans to surprise them by having Pitt over for Thanksgiving dinner. An alleged insider tells the blog, "Angelina knows the kids would love Brad to be there for the special day," adding that she wants to "recreate" the family's supposed tradition of the actor carving the turkey.
The outlet's questionable source further contends that Jolie "has major doubts Brad would take her up on the offer, but she wants to do something nice for the kids." The supposed tipster goes on to say that the actress wants to extend an "olive branch" to her estranged husband because she's "been in a forgiving mood lately, especially with the holidays coming up."
The outlet's storyline is entirely fabricated. Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who tells us that no one in Jolie's inner circle spoke to HollywoodLife about her Thanksgiving plans. The blog's premise doesn't make much sense either, considering that the estranged spouses are still in a custody battle over their kids.
It was reported last week that Pitt and Jolie's custody battle will go to trial on December 4 if they're unable to reach an agreement before that date. E! News, a much more reliable celebrity news outlet than HollywoodLife, noted that custody talks have "been up and down for months and they aren't anywhere close to making an agreement."
In June, a judge ruled that Jolie could lost primary custody of her six kids if she didn't allow them to spend more time with their dad. In August, the actress accused Pitt of not paying any "meaningful child support." When the actor's lawyers dismissed the claim, Jolie's camp said they were attempting to "obfuscate the truth and distract from the fact that he has not fully met his legal obligations to support the children." Simply put, it hardly sounds like Jolie is eager to sit down for Thanksgiving dinner with her estranged husband.
It's worth noting, Gossip Cop called out the blog last year for making up a similar story about Jolie inviting Pitt to go trick-or-treating with the kids on Halloween. That never happened. The website has updated the premise for Thanksgiving, but it's equally false.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
