Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt did not split over their kids’ education, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can correct this claim, which falsely alleges the former couple often fought over how to “raise and educate” their children. We’re told it’s “false” and not the reason why they broke up.
According to Celebrity Insider, Pitt was “hoping for a normal and simple life” for his six children, but Jolie wanted something “unorthodox” that involved a lot of “traveling and red carpets.” A so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “Brad and Angie are still at war over how to raise their many children.” Forgetting that he or she called the actress “Angie” one sentence before, the same almost assuredly fake “source” adds, “Angelina continues to drag the children to red carpets, award shows and extravagant trips around the planet while Brad has been doing the opposite.”
The unreliable website’s supposed “insider” further asserts that Jolie treats her children like her “best friends,” while Pitt is trying to teach them the same “midwest values he grew up learning.” The alleged “source” then maintains, “[Education is] a big reason behind their divorce and it is why the former power couple are still at war today.” In strangely unnatural language, the blog’s questionable tipster contends, “Every time Brad sees another picture in the press of Angelina and the kids, he quietly fumes and doubles his energy to provide the children with a quiet, peaceful, normal life.”
As Gossip Cop reported at the time, Pitt and Jolie split for one reason only: The altercation that took place on a private jet in September 14, 2016. The incident, which involved the actor allegedly striking his oldest child Maddox, resulted in investigations by the FBI and the Los Angeles County’s Department of Children and Family Services (for which Pitt was cleared), and prompted Jolie to file for divorce from Pitt. Contrary to Celebrity Insider’s made-up report, Pitt and Jolie didn’t split solely over their kids’ education. Furthermore, as People reported last December about the kids’ lives, they’re largely being homeschooled by tutors, just like they were when the couple was together.
This isn’t the first time Gossip Cop has busted an outlet for manufacturing a story about Jolie and Pitt’s children’s schooling. In September, we corrected In Touch when it wrongly claimed Pitt was worried his kids weren’t getting a “good education” under the care of Jolie. In that strikingly similar article, the tabloid alleged the actor thought his estranged wife had “lost control” of their six children and wasn’t providing them with proper schooling. But that entire report was untrue, much like this latest claim. Still, a source close to Pitt, who wasn’t authorized to comment on the record, assures Gossip Cop this new tale is “false.”
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
